I'll watch the game and post an assessment, but from the looks of it this was a good all round performance. 

APD says matfield was flawless in the lineout.Samoa have no lineout and we never missed a beat when pap victor went off. Everything improved.Notice how suddenly matfield starts calling so many lineouts to himself. He knew it would be easy work an d he could con the gullible!

Beeno, Victor wasn't the player who lost a lineout to Japan... Lood did. Victor has been a tremendous presence upon his return. I don't think a World Cup final could ever be possible without him. Certainly, Mark Andrews has egg dripping all over his face regarding Steph. 

 Guys, think about a strategy.. Maybe the Bokke were never meant to win far against Japan, but it went wrong - nearly like Jake and Tonga in 2007.
The balance of the team was much better.  With du Preez, Willie le Roux and Damien there was already a massive impact. Pollard played better than Lambie and Vermeulen made a difference at 8.  We must just hope that Meyer does not loose his head again and select the wrong player-mix.
Beeno1 my brother it is not healthy to walk the earth with so much hate.  Old Vic actually does what he has to and Lood makes a big impact when he comes on.
I think Etzebeth had a massive game as well.  Malherbe is a little better than Jannie and Trevor has a better work-rate than the Zimbo.

 Beeno, give credit when credit is due. Matfield called the lineouts excellently. We won good ball on almost all, and won many against the throw. 
Regardless or how good Lood was, and he was excellent too, that doesn't take anything away from Victor. In fact it's to be celebrated that we continued dominating after Victor went off.
I've criticised Matfield before when I believed he wasn't up to scratch, but we should praise him when  he plays well  as he did today.

F reddie, I mentioned that nearly a week ago. Nobody is interested in that one, because it isn't saying that Meyer is the worst coach ever.

Perhaps the best thing was seeing the guys getting better the longer they played. Vermeulen, Du Preez, Louw, all the guys returning from recent injuries are starting to hit their form. Great reply from the team and everyone involved after the past week's mayhem. Certainly the most physically intense defensive display by this team in recent memory. 

Oh please the samoans didnt even contest our lineoiuts. They only have one specialist lock in their squad!! Eben stole a lineout as soon as wee matfiled left the field.He is a menanace to our chances when we meet  sides with good packs.Our scrums also got better. Everything improved.
Meyer you have all the evidence you need.
Coloured F red if one loves the Boks you want the best team on the park. Away with the conman. 

 Steph is twice the lock that matfield is. Mark Andrews is completey correct.

To date there is no evidence Vic hinders anything. A fine tooth comb through game footage has revealed him to be among our hardest working players. His work rate is not easily replaced, and his defensive work is very important. Lood is stronger head-on, but Victor can make any kind of tackle effectively. He also has great hands.

Matfield working in the engine room is just not in evidence.  He had for a change a good game today - and was less standing around in the backline than normal.   Hardworking he is definitely not - he can only be that if he has grunt in the forward play can he be regarded as a hard worker.
The moment he and Jannie was replaced our mauls improved drastically and he scrumming problem was fixed as well, 
The mountain of egg on your face as to De Allende is mounting and the silliness also.
