....pardon the pun. Faf and Bavuma did well. Amla, Cook and Quinty flopped.

One has to giggle at what the resident Buffoon had to say.....
and are looking good at 229/4 at the end of day 1 of the 1st test after they won the toss and chose to bat.
Looking good? Well let's have a closer inspection as 229 Runs equates to 2.54 per over.....an ordinary run rate. To further highlight an already sorry tale, three of the batsmen went for scores of 3...1...1 respectively.
How much worse could it get I ask with tears in my eyes?
Dean Elgar and Bavuma went into survival mode after the loss of those cheap wickets hence the slowness of the run rate which under better circumstance should have been closer to 3 plus per over on a smallish ground and a slow wicket which should have settled at around 420 runs just after lunch on D2.
So as for "looking good"....really?
But thanks for the laugh anyway, it kinda softens the hurt of not "looking g ood."

The Kiwi attack has had the best of the wicket on D1....it's since gone from slow to slowest, a perfect batting strip, no movement, no swing. Our pace attack has been blunted. But tell that to the blithering fool who thinks Faf made the right decision to bat.

Nah ....just after each NZ wicket. Still your chaps are batting very well, a NZ first innings lead looks likely.

Never fear Okkie......Amla is still at the crease and u still have Bavuma to bat.
Time allowing these guys will surely score a ton each and the test will end in a draw.
Another exciting ending to the test for u.
As always, looking out for u Okkie.
Vasbyt...... and watch out for me on TV.
P.S. Just a reminder once more.
I will be the white guy wearing a Sharks rugby cap at the 7's in Vancouver.

Amla and Bavuma once more rise to the occasion and produce their classic game saving batting performance.
Irrespective of what sport it is the old saying of SELECT THE BEST AND NOT THE REST  is spot on.
Either produce the goods or get out of the way.
Sport is about winning not hanging on to past performances.
Flink Dink.....Okkie!
