“I think we will have to put a structure in place to prevent that players are burned out by Super Rugby Final time. That’s where New Zealand currently have the edge over us, with the management of their players rather than their coaching."

Does that piece of bureaucratic gobbledegook make you want to follow Luke Watson's example and lose last night's Grabbouw? It does me!

Rassie is all about having a role with no responsiblity, so nothing is ever really his fault. He goes on to say our kick and chase tactics have lost some effectiveness because the current NZ back three handle the tactic better. No mention of the fact that the Poms, Bargies and Oz were also impervious.

Now he has left on field coaching to van Graan and Loubscher and is working his alchemy in the hahahaha High Performance Centre. Laughable stuff. This guy failed at the Cheetahs, failed at WP/Stormers and failed in the Eddie Jones role. Get somebody with real blood pumping through their veins....not a bloodless bureaucrat.

Failed a tthe Cheetahs winning two of their three currie Cup wins up to that time. Failed at WP. Hahahaahahhahaha. Couldnt win overseas and then had a record breaking tour. Sorry to remind you of all these wrong calls Moz but its history. I will also remind you Rassie was rated as a world class flank in his day. The good Bok blood is pumping through those veins for sure!

Good thinking there Rassie we  know that some guys were played into the ground and not only in this season. If you can get the franchises to manage their Boks and other players better that would be a huge plus. Its never happened before so good luck.

What a moron.

I used to worship the guy!

But the past few years have made me change my mind.

he is nothing more than a yes man like nasa (NAAS)who thinks that by stating the obvious, makes them intelligent.

has anyone noticed how Naas tries to make himself sound intelligent by stating the blatant obvios? Listen next time. He is such a palooka!

As for Ras... He had a few cute coaching tricks, like hiding in the roof and sending light signals to his players, and the whole prop rotation thing... but other than that, i havent seen bugger all insight from him.

We need intelligence, not total morons! Our coaches are so 1 dimensional from school body level to bokke.

I mean for f's sakes, a typical example... instead of being coached to find and create gaps, we are taught to smash through people. ... and then kick the ball away in the very next phase.

Come on SARU, can't you see what you are doing to us! We will never consistantly beat any top team (NZ, Aus, Ire, France, Eng etc...) with those bum and outdated tactics! We need thinkers! We need rugby archtitects...

Actually that sums it up 100%!!!!

We need architects in charge, not frikken brick layers!

(no disrespect to brick layers)

Jeez,  Hasbeen,  all that tennis must be exhausting you.....the logic! Firstly despite a huge budget Rassie won nothing at WP or the Stormers.

But let's examine the argument. We lose out in the S15 and FN because our players are exhausted? But the Sharks firstly got to the final....then played extremely well for 60 minutes.....finally losing to a fine team at home. They got there travelling the Indian Ocean thrice!!!

So they were very competitive and would have probably won the whole thing if the final was in Durban. They didn't lose because they were more exhausted than the NZ team.....they lost because in a careless game against the Lions they lost all home field options. Even if they just travelled for the final.....they would have stood a better chance.

I'm sick of the perennial Bok argument that our players are tired. It's just an excuse. We can't allow ourselves to be confused by this verbal garbage.

So if some of our players are not being managed well - as has been noted -  they will not be tired and its an excuse. Rassie thinks nz manage their player workloads better and has identified this an an area needing improvement. Very sensible stuff Rassie. Glad you are hoining in on things like this. Facxts are not to be confused with excsues.

Dr Moz I have mentioned that Cobus Visagie has said Rassie is the finest rugby brain he has encountered. I also menioned many similar comments by others. He will do us a great deal of good. Look at his tremendous input at the cheetahs and WP - including his work with te juniours. No please get over your way our stance re Rassie. Hence his appointment to his current position. Glad to see he and Meyer are still working together. Success is virtually assured  - virtually because there are in sport factors beyond your control like bent refs and injuries etc.

Of course the Sharks lost becuase of too much travel - a probem with the format re the comp (They could have had a weeks break before the final if rugby were the only critieria). Same thing happened to the crusties versus reds. Any side can lose the odd game. Sharks had a number of key players out in the begining of the season and hence did not accumualte the log points they would have barring injuries. It happens - injuries blasted the Stormers chances and it was amazing we topped the log dispite all this.

beennutbutter,

see you are still trying to convince everyone that losing the comp means something - "succes is surely assured"....hehe of course it is...."not"

It was amazing to see the Stormers given all the chances again and again and again and they again got "zilch"

love your blind faith its at least admirable if not stupid hehe
