A biological male can never be female.

Is Imane Khelif male, if so what makes him male? Is it simple the presence of the X Chromosome?

So why doesn’t the organisation’s make a league for these DSD people or trans ? Problem solved and they can have there own little club where they can do what they want to. Keep them separate from real woman!!

Because there isn't enough of them to have their own competition.  There has only been one ever trans athlete to compete at the Olympics' and there is no trans people competing in the Paris Olympics, and just two that may be people with DSD or are intersex, both of them boxers but in different weight categories so they wouldn't be fighting against each other anyway. With DSD there is also the matter in that it can manifest itself in different ways affecting some people in a very minor way to having much more significant affects on others, so then if you where considering that there should be a DSD category only, how much does a person have to be affected by DSD before they are put into that category, who decides that. Complete rabbit hole. In affect separate categories for trans or DSD people would be a defacto ban.

Fact is this Algerian is not a biological woman and should not be fighting or competing against any real woman!

We don't know that's a fact. The President of the IBA told Russian state media that the tests had proved Imane Khelif has XY Chromosomes, but the testing methodology was never stated nor any evidence published proving that. Why would one favour the IBA's unknown testing system over the IOC's system?

What about that trans gender swimmer Lia Thomas competing against biological woman?? Riley Gaines luckily stood up against that…yet again if you were born a man and you want to be a women, then do what you want…. But don’t expect to be treated as a biological woman.

Riley Gaines is entitled to her opinion and she's not the only athlete with that view, but many other female athletes have came out in support of Lia Thomas. Other's took the view that trans women could compete as long as they could demonstrate they lost there sex linked male puberty advantage.

I note Riley Gaines is also against trans people taking part in women's chess competitions. Someone want to explain how a trans women would have an unfair advantage here? Kinda suggests Gaines isn't really concerned about fairness but just doesn't like trans people in general.

Then there is also a trend where men with male organs can now identify as women or a biological Women can identify as a Women, just because they feel like it??

Well its more than they just feel like it. It's not like they wake up one day and go ah you know what I feel like being trans. For most its probably a slow process of realisation that happens over time. Ultimately I don't care what someone wants to identify as. They can identify as a carrot for all I care. It's none of my business. When it comes to them competing in sport I would be favour of them competing in cases where their not advantaged by the gender they had before transitioning.

In America these kind of men that are jailed but identify as a woman all of a sudden, we’re allowed to go to female prisons….what happened was that these men raped some of the female prisoners!

Searching around I can see there is one reported case of that happening, where a man pretended to be a trans women and allegedly raped a female inmate.. Believe a court case is ongoing.  There is nothing to suggest this is a widespread occurrence. And if that one case is true its not reflective of trans people. That wasn't a trans person committing a crime.

Might not have been born a man but clearly the poor thing has more man in her than woman and for that reason has a clear advantage over woman and therefore should not be allowed to compete against woman.

Several of her previous opponents have come out in support of her.

Her fight record stands at 51 fights with 42 wins (4 of which where disqualified after the IBA test) and 9 losses. Only 6 of her 42 wins where by knock out/technical knock out.  Not sure if its a record that indicates she has a clear advantage.

Simple solution is to have a separate category for this class of individual to compete it. It could include trans and DSD individuals

Too few trans or people with DSD for a separate category to be viable.

Just because the Italian boxer wishes to apologise will not make a difference.

Agree with Saffex's last posting.

I feel for folks that are born under such circumstances but that does not mean that we have to lower the qualifications or rules for anything to accomodate them.

What about the folks born with a physical handicap, they have a similar games so let these unfortunate go to those games.

These two unfortunate boxers will never overcome this bad call by the Olympic officials and will be ridiculed through no fault of their making.

Shame on the Olympic body.

Dave

The unfortuate  situation is that the Governments such as the US G oernment oenly accpted and enhance it in the uSA - where the present Govenmnt stated there ar 52 gendercategories in the USA and they must be aaaccommodated n Women sport and all they have to do is to declare themslves as women and they can compete in vomens sport.   When that happens the men can use thee change roonm and toilet facilities and the found themselves with men showing their male organs.

That pilosophy has found its way into all Democratic countriand npthjing people used to hink ar now unaccptable

Who said the qualification or rules where lowered for them?
What about the folks born with a physical handicap, they have a similar games so let these unfortunate go to those games.

So let me get this straight, you think athletes with DSD have a physical advantage over athletes who are not affected by DSD and your solution is to send people you consider to have a physical advantaged over regulars athletes to compete with athletes who are handicapped.

These two unfortunate boxers will never overcome this bad call by the Olympic officials and will be ridiculed through no fault of their making.

Shame on the Olympic body.

How do you know any of that?

It’s not its fault that it’s allowed to fight a woman

Not its fault?....."its".... "its"....fuck me.  We know are talking about a human being here, not a little toy action figure. They are not a fucking its. Imagine just for a moment they where a family member of yours, would you like people to refer to them as "it".

blame the Olympic committee for sanctioning it - stupid pricks

I hate to break it to you but this is a way more complicated issue than "I think she looks like a man, therefore she must be a man". With that in mind  might not want to label everyone a stupid prick just because they don't agree with you.

But I have a question Anger, how should we properly address you

Stav will do fine.

How many DSD, Transgender and the ones wanting to identify as a different sex, are there in the world? It’s most probably more than a 1000 …Gays and Lesbians can join them then they will definitely be enough….call it LGBTQIA+ Identity Crisis Fairy Olympics : ) They can have Rainbow costumes, special books with pop up pictures etc etc.. Problem solved and everyone is Happy: )

His article just makes it more clearer that these two are different….Hence the very important argument to have different sport competitions. If both of these so called women have more manly chromosomes, it means that there bodies have or produce more testosterone than a female…that is why men are stronger because they produce up to 20 times more testosterone. “Testosterone helps build muscle by generating proteins, which then increases muscle strength,” explains Matthew Accetta, MS, ACSM-CEP, CSCS*D, CSPS, an exercise physiologist at HSS.05 Man look at that picture of this Imane fellow and tell me that there is not more man in there? He /she,s body build is also bigger/Manlier than the Italian women, and stronger than a Woman with only female Chromosomes.

Very tight 100 metres. Lyles who was behind after 30 metres gets gold with superior closing speed and a better lean. Simbine who ran superbly misses bronze by 1/100th of a second,  Hell of a race!
Bolt’s record is still beyond mere mortals.

The fastest human….still for me the ultimate event. I remember in 71, having just arrived in the States, watching the 71 Super Bowl. The Colts were leading the Cowboys deep into the fourth quarter, there were seconds left…

‘There is only one thing for the Cowboys  to do’ said  the commentator, ‘get the ball to world’s fastest human’. He was referring to Bob Hayes who won Olympic gold in 1964 and then got recruited by the Cowboys.

Bob had bulked up a lot so he wasn’t the world’s fastest any more…but still very  quick. Sadly the Cowboys had no passing skills and we never saw what Bob could do.

In 1924 Harold Abraham’s won the Olympics in 10.6 seconds….in 2024 Alfred won the woman’s 100 in 10.74. One hundred years from now in the Paris games of 2124, does a woman run the 100 metres in 9.8?

Only 1,497 humans have ever broken the 4-minute mile - CBC.ca

Only 1,497 humans have ever broken the 4-minute mile — and I’m one of them

'As I type this, my heart has been beating faster, just thinking about that race'

By Nathan Brannen for CBC Sports

There are few events in the sport of track and field that people understand like the mile.

Even people who know very little about track, know that it takes an extraordinary effort to break four minutes over the 1,609-metre race. The mystery surrounding this distance is as alive today as it was in 1954 when Roger Banister first broke the magical four-minute barrier.

The image was captured by French photographer Jerome Brouillet.

The photo of Medina riding the barrel of the wave went viral, but it was the instant he emerged, celebrating with a stunning kick-out, that photographer Brouillet captured perfectly.

In a moment that feels straight out of a dream but is as real as it gets, Medina’s surreal mid-air float next to his surfboard has racked up millions of likes on Instagram.
