Should read "Pet Project" sorry. In 1986, The Lions played a match against the "Rest" to compensate for the canselled SA tour. The week game (Wednesday game) before that was a NH vs SH match. The Saffas playing were Naas, Danie Gerber and 3Prop Flippie vd Marwe...yes, Flip Flops father. I can find no info on this game and no other video footage other than the scraps  in the Danie Gerber tribute Vidio. Please guys, get cracking and help out here. I can remember watching this match live as a lad, but it was long ago. Lets see how we do.

Five Nations XVEdit

In 1986 a team was put together made up of representatives of the Five Nations to play a one-off match against an Overseas Unions rugby union teamto commemorate the centenary of the International Rugby Football Board(IRFB), which would shortly afterwards become the IRB or International Rugby Board. The match was played on Saturday, 19 April 1986,[18] and the Five Nations lost 32–13.[19]

The Overseas Union team was co-coached by New Zealand's Brian Lochoreand Australia's Robert Ian Templeton.

The match

Unlike the first celebratory match three days earlier in a wet Cardiff Arms Park, this game was played in ideal conditions at Twickenham.[20] At the time, there were only eight Unions affiliated to the Board, thus only players from those unions were chosen.

Note that at the time, tries were worth four points. The five-point try was not instituted until 1992.
