The Boks actually defended manfully in the semi....but two horrible lapses cost them.

The first is very obvious....Lomp gets Kaino one-on one and gets swatted off like a school boy for a try.

The second sees Nonu run unimpeded for 15 metres, drawing in JP and setting up a try scoring pass. It's a simple 2 on 2, but Allende is 2 steps behind Pollard in coming up, trots across to defend and then gets partially 'stood up' by a Nonu stutter.

Our tactic next week is to defend  like Trojans....hence playing Japan without the ball. And the same two players.....Lomp and Dud Allende may be in the mix. Not a comforting thought.

Throughout 2015 we saw the same names pop up. Damian singlehandedly lost the opening Wallaby test. Damian, Lood, Coetzee, Lambie, Kriel, Steph were others. Jean had one poor game, but was playing his first game after a lengthy layoff and horror injury.

Against New Zealand, it's going to be the Ellis Park formula. I can't believe Rassie intends to soak the All Blacks up. It's tantamount to suicide. Kick ing, keeping them deep in their half and lots of heavy blunt running.

Still lying about the 2015 WC try of Barrett - what you claimed have been proven 20 times over as a physical impossibility is according to you repeated time and time again.   But you are a habitual  liar and hence deserved the nickname Strzok 100%

What a bloody idiot this fool is - read CC's assessment of you dimness,     LMAO

Who cares about the grunt's assessment? What struck me again watching that video, was how DudAllende trots up to the defensive line. The World Cup is in the balance, the ABs are on our line, his direct opponent is about to get the ball in a dangerous 2 on 2, and he is jogging. Thick as a brick.

It's on the video.....put your greasy thumb on the blue "two"......it's called a link. The video will pop upon the SA Rugby Mag page. Put your greasy thumb on the arrow. The highlights will appear. Watch the Barrett try. Allende is 2 paces behind Pollard and well inside Nonu. He should be accelerating to cover his man......but he trots......he allows Nonu 15 metres of clear running inside the Bok 22. Now you tell me Muck, what part of that is a lie.

The fact that Nono did not run directly at the goal line and De Allende - but diagonally across the field and could under such circumstances not be cut off by De Allende  according to experts.   That was a problem which you could never explain after you originally claimed De Allende missed the tackle.

Nobody in the wide world came up with the BS story and ended up being supported by Liza Page and Comey - after which you claimed the three of you are world experts in rugby evaluation and better thn everybody supported the BS you came up with.

Happy Liar and Distorter Day to you

So which part is a lie: 1.Dud was out of position......behind Pollard and inside Nonu. 2 He ambled for a few strides and then accelerated 3 He hesitated when Nonu feigned an inside step. 4 Nonu ran unopposed for15 plus metres, JP saw the danger of Nonu going all the way and was forced to come inside. 5 Barrett was left wide open and scored the winning try.

1    BS he was straight opposite Noni where he was supposed to be.

2    Ambled - are you sick I the mind o if he was he woul never hae caught up with Nono  which he did.

3   BS  - Nono started off running diagonally  across the field

4   That ties in with the lie that you initially stated that  SDE Allnde did not tackle Nono in the end.  Pieterse was nowhere when he was supposed to cover the outside runner and not be in no-mans-land.

5    Pietersen's fault all the way

Let me giver you a bit of advice.   Don't suck things out of the air and discover things nobody else did,   It is stupid and make you look like a  fool, which I know you are not. .

Sorry Mike, not Pieterson’s fault at all. DA let Nonu run too far and that left JP in no man’s land having to cover both Nonu and Barrett because DA took so long to get to him. It was Nonu’s stutter step that fooled him and he was too slow getting going again. Mind you, not many players in the world could read what Nonu was going to do. Witness how he left Beale flat footed in the final when he chopped off his right foot. Amazing ability to change direction for such a big man.

That was predictable. If you don't apply pressure, you give free time and space. You've got to shut Nonu down. A real centre would've done that. Jean, Fourie, de Jongh, Frans, Joubert, Andre, Olivier. They all would have got in Nonu's face. A very soft try conceded because of passivity bordering on cowardice.

You are as stupid as Strzok  a total brain wreck,  Both off you pretended  that you not understand physical impossibility involved in this case,   Why don't you work  out the running angles and movement involved in this case mong?

The silliness and idiocy continue as per normal - the real BS in that game was Matfield's  turnaround penalty that both you two idiots pretended did not happen.

What one cannot understand is the dismal BS you spread on this site, especially when you "discover" : something which nobody else ever raised as an issue.    I discussed this discovery with a range of people and they all thought what you three claimed  should happened  is impossible,   And that it remains.

Embarrassing that after 4 years the lightbulb in that biased head of yours did not light up.  Idiocy supreme.

Worth revisiting the video in this thread again about how the Aussies identified and targeted DA as a defensive weakness. His defense has improved somewhat since then, but it hurt us in 2015.

Is he best 12 in SA though?

We think that because he's been the only one selected with Andre been given barely ten games to find his feet.

DDA has had five years of being selected consistently and the fact that we're still not sure he's our best option, tells us he is not.

He's prone to failing at critical moments and killing momentum through unforced errors as well. 12s are supposed to be solid on defence, reliable if not smart or creative on attack and to win the fight so that the 13 can be more creative.

DDA is just none of those things for me.

His barging try against Ireland and a few ruck turnovers are about all I can really credit him with in terms of solo play resulting in positives.

He's more known for killing momentum, running too lateral or too straight, after having lost his eye for a gap, and for defensive lapses that lose games.

No biased Beeno. I support any player from any province. What I don't support is mediocrity denying deserving players a solid opportunity.

DDA's consistent failure has so severely nullified Kriel's game that Am seems to be Rassie's starter now. Kriel is clearly a better player than Am...aside from maybe in the heart department. But can you blame him, considering the shocking service he's had since 2014?

I'm not so sure Plum. Am is our best exponent of the rush defense. He perhaps doesn't impose himself on attack as he should, but then neither does Kriel unless you give him a gap to run into.

Plum

I do agree - I am not satisfied with aspects of De Allende's game at 12 where there were deficiencies.   I think part of his problem was what the previous coaches wanted him to do - which has no bearing on acceptable center play.    He already looks a better player under Erasmus than he used to be under Meyer and Coetzee.

I think that there has been a lot written about Esterhuizen over the last two years.   His history goes back to White who rarely played him and even tried him at blindside flank.   Esterhuien all along had one major problem - he is seriously pace deficient.   The impact of that is that -

*    he uses his physical strength in the main to crashball and on very few occasions he made line breaks that ending in ball possession losses when he is tackled;

*    his defense is suspect since too many players just ran near to him without any attempt on his art to try and tackle them reflecting also his comparatively low tackle count and comparatively high missed tackle ratio - both on super rugby and test level.

I have also got doubts about his decision-making - the incident in the test on 2 November 2018 - when he isolated himself and was illegally tackled bothers me.

On the whole I think Erasmus does study player performances and assessments carefully and he would not eliminate a player from the WC squad if there were not reservations on his part.   He must have some misgivings about Esterhuizen to leave him at home and take the seriously defective Steyn to the WC.   I think the latter is basically a cover for flyhalf and not center - but still he can cover center when the team is happy to lose a game.

Strzok

Look at  his tackle stats compared to those of De Allende - in five tests last year when Esterhuizen started he made 22 tackles missing 5 compared to 42 tackles made and 5 missed by De Allende.  Also remove those blinkers and just maybe you may see something real and not something you totally misrepresent in games,   The latter is hard I know -  you distorted things so much in the past and old habits die hard if basic rugby dishonesty is your only knowledge of the game.

I already thoroughly debunked this when I calculated the tackle numbers in relation to the actual minutes each player spent on the field across the whole season - it amounted to a one tackle attempt per game advantage to DA - virtually insignificant. As usual you stopped your count short of the Australia game where Esterhuizen made 13 tackles, so the number of 22 is actually 4 tests, not 5.

Comey

You are after AO the dumbest BSter ever.   I said starting tests  dim fool when I made the comparison.  .   And the fact is you debunked zero.  Esterhuizen is a low work rate tackler and slow too boot so he is often too slow to get into tackling a player running past him even less than three meters away..

Do you think Erasmus did not give him enough test time to lay a claim for selection.   Unlike Meyer Erasmus select players on the basis of actual performance and Esterhuizen missed the boat. Do you think he would have selected Steyn if Esterhuizen was any better than the useless FATSO?  The fact that he selected Fatso is a choice between the lesser of two evils.

He started against Australia.

So by calculating a player's tackle rate based on the minutes he actually spent on the field (the most accurate ratio you can get as opposed to "games played" where the player may have spent only 20 minutes on the park or 60 minutes on the park) I didn't debunk anything?

The same pattern repeats across 9 Super Rugby games that I analyzed - roughly 1 tackle per game difference between the two players: DA 8.05 tackles per game, Andre 7.26 tackles per game (80 mins.) .

Pretty much everything you say about Esterhuizen's defense is pure myth.

The 20/60 minutes was an example of why simply using number of games as your benchmark is not accurate, since a player doesn't necessarily play the full 80 minutes when he takes the field. Also, why would you want to stop at 5 tests instead of considering the whole season for each player?

I took the five tests in which Esterhuizen started and analyzed those.

No, you took the first four tests - that's 22 tackles. If you add the fifth (Australia), you get 35 tackles.

I never mentioned anything about the Super Rugby season at all

Correct. I mentioned it as an additional data point to show that their defensive performances in Super Rugby corroborates their performances at test level. There's a pattern - a pattern which clearly indicates a rough difference of 1 tackle per game between them. Again, that difference is virtually insignificant and blows your theory about Esterhuizen being a lazy defender with a low work rate out of the water. If we were looking at, for example, 5 tackles per 80 min for Andre vs 8 for Damian, then you had a point. At 7 vs 8? Nada.

I see you're getting hysterical again. Slow down, read what I write, let it sink in. Stop pulling the trigger before you load the gun. You can have the last say, I know you want to. I'm done here.

Ja Mike.

Rate our backs from best to worst. Here is a short list.

Cheslin, Pollard, Faf, Mapimpi, Am, DDA, Willie.

Tell me DDA is not dead last on that list. Despite being 1st or 2nd in terms of experience. Even when we include players like Nkosi and Dyanti with much less experience to the above, DDA is still the least skillful, the least clever and potentially the slowest too.

You need to stop pretending that people want to see the back of him simply because they don't like him. Fans want him out of the side because he just fails too often.

Look no further than the Japan friendly for very clear evidence.

W\hen I made the calculation originally I dealt with 4 tests only

All were starting tests fool.   Nothing you write is worth sinking in.  Since Esterhuizen started in five tests I took those five tests and the first five tests of De Allende in which he started in in 2018.

Now let me go through this for you to understand:-

Esterhuizen

Wales       -      5 made    0   missed

England   -       4 made    3  missed

Argentina  -     9 made    1 missed

Argentina  -     4 made    1 missed

Australia   -    13 made   2 missed

Total after 4 tests  22 made 5  missed

Total after 5 tests   35 made  7 missed

De Allende

England (2)   -   25 made  1 missed

Australia       -     9 made  2 missed

New Zealand -    8 made   2 missed

New Zealand -    7 made   3 missed

Total after 4 tests  42 made 5  missed

Total after 5 tests   49 made  8 missed

New Zealand -    7 made   3 missed

Average in 5 tests -   Esterhuizen   -  7 tackles per game

De Allende    -  9,8 tackles per game.

Where you get 7 and 8 from is from another dream by you.   If you do the counting yourself I can tell you one thing - there is a very good reason why I call you Comey - you are totally twisted,
