Nz have been doing it for decades and now Oz is doing it and so the poms are getting in on the act. Only SA has the players resources not to need Islanders.  Dispite empty denials nz beef up their Super 15 sides with islander talent and many an Islander has played for the abs over the years. Of course little has been done by the neighbours nz and Oz to get them going  as they are considered a source of raw materials. Hansen is weeping buckets about how unfair Oz is. Hahaahahahhahahahahahaha.

Oh and thanks for pointing out to muncher that  Rhodesia was never a part of South Africa. Wheeew wonder how he contrived that typo!!!! Bwahahahahahaha

Ex Keo

Fiji coach Inoke Male has labelled England ‘vultures’ for their stockpiling of foreign players. Vultures they are also look at their Premier Soccer league - do englishmen play in it?

Male told The Times of London that several players have made themselves unavailable for Fiji (who play England on 10 November) in a bid to become eligible to play for England or France under the IRB’s three-year residency rule.

Racing Métro outside back Virimi Vakatawa wants to play for France while England coach Stuart Lancaster has included Mako Vunipola, the Saracens prop who is the son of Fe’ao Vunipola, the Tonga international, alongside Manu Tuliagi, whose elder brothers played for Samoa, in his squad for the November internationals.

‘There are several players not available to us for this tour because they want to play for other countries,’ Male told The Times. ‘Young players now want to pursue options for other countries rather than coming on tour which is not a good sign. We have got a lot of problems caused by European countries, especially France and England, who have taken some of our players through their academies when they were young. England and France have got a lot of players to pick from already and, as a small country, for our players to be poached from us is not acceptable.

‘There is one very talented player we wanted to select who went to an English academy and he is now 16 years old and has opted to play for England. It is very obvious what is happening. If you go to the secondary school championships you will see scouts from Australia, New Zealand and England trying to find your players who want to go overseas. They are taking our young players like vultures.’

So please note its NZ first really followed in recent years by Oz and now England. However every cloud has a silver liningoaks. Thi scould mean less Isalnder players for NZ. Hhaahhaahhahaha - talk about the writing being on the wall!

Of course we will have the predictabl denial from our nz friends re them being vultures and I suspect Redsmen will say if you cant beat em.

However as I said we don't need  Islanders so we will watch from the sidelines whilst these vultures battle it out. Bwahahahhahaahhahaha hilarious.

Most countries take a few player which balances out, Except for England. England have become a football club that tries to buy national players for their sports. Look at the Kevin Pieterson saga, when Pieterson was playing his home country. You cant buy loyalty and nothing compares to representing your own country.

I don't think we should use 19th cenury  issues to justify things in the 21st century.   We are living now in a global village - where people sell their services for the highest price offered - whether it is in sport or any profession.  I know there should be rules that is strictly applied - if for instance -  in the event of a player represented his country in a particular code of sport on international level - in any age group - he or she should be banned from playing for or representing another country for a period of three years.    That is a long time in sport and could eliminate and curb the available lifespan of players by up to 40% .   I believe that rule is applied in any event.

I have no objection to the democratic right of people totake decisions on their sporting career - like in the case of all other professions and the arguments on that issue on the board seems to be based on the wrong prmises in any event.
