What is interesting is that Romans hung Jesus- and the cross became a symbol of Christianity.
What most Christians fail to acknowledge is that during the renaissance- Catholics hung many Protestants (who are also Christians).
In fact over the years Christians used the cross to hang people. Not much of a tribute to Christ.

Oh my word.....after Snarkbok came up with Christians celebrating Good Friday he produces a new classic.

" he died and was reborn" I mean apart from being horribly wrong, how does that work technically, do you think Mary was involved?

He rose from the dead according to the gospels. If you are going to opine, let me suggest you try reading the book first you moron.

These are not my words or my beliefs. Instead, it is the belief of reborn again Christians.
Personally, I think Jesus was a person and not a god. He met his end when he was hung. I believe Christianity turned him into legend a few hundred years after his death- by giving him one last party trick of being reborn.
A no the Virgin Mary was not involved. Again, i don't believe that Mary was a virgin in te first instance

Freedom of Speech Draad- given this topic has "again" been put in the rugby section.
If a Buddist, Hindu or Muslim made the statement below that-"everyone who does not share their religion would fail", it would get more replies from Christians.
Are you sure the shoe is on the other foot, or that the Kettle is actually not black?

..everyone will fail "except" those who don't rely on themselves but God's Son who laid down His life for us sinners. Like it or not ...it's the truth.

Oh dear Snark, we are trying very hard, but no in spite of what some internet blogger might think Good Friday is the most somber day in the Christian calendar.....a day of sorrow, not a day of celebration. ..... And Easter Sunday is the day Christ rose from the dead, he wasn't reborn. But if you disagree perhaps you could explain the process. ...... As for being happy clappy, no, I'm not a practioner of that form of religion. Unlike you and Urinal though, I am educated enough to know these two simple things. And unlike you I respect the individual's rights to express their religious views.....here or anywhere else. ...... Truly religious people can't compartmentalize their lives. We see that every day from our Moslem neighbours and accept that. But if a Christian should be so bold as to express his views he is mocked. Hypocrisy.

Wardad, the Old Testament God isn't exactly hippy peace and lurve and I'll bet you dollars to doughnuts he's smote many more people than Thor could ever dream of smiting.

I found a website some time ago where somebody went to the trouble of reading the bible and counting all God's kills and then comparing his kills to those of Satan. I think the score was something like God 2000000 vs Satan 4.
