Too many players on the wrong side of 30. Amla, JP and Faf in shocking form. AB wanting to quit. Philander and Steyn crocked. Abbott, Bavuma and Piedt not test standard and a coach out of his depth. We are in serious shit. What an embarrassment.

It appears that the ANC policies are hitting home at all levels in sport thus the movement of players to foreign shores.
It is not only the weak Rand that is causing the exodus but the restriction on talent reaching the top due to the colour code requirement as being enforced by the ANC and their puppets.
I have always supported merit selection irrespective of colour and I know most if not all do.....but the ANC don't.
To them the light in the tunnel does not appear to be a train wreck heading in their direction.
Well we can always watch Aussie cricket and the six nations I guess......

 SA Cricket has called up some extra players for the second test after the latest fiasco.   The team suggested in the news report in News24 is the following:-
Stiaan van Zyl, Dean Elgar, Hashim Amla, AB de Villiers, Rilee Rossouw, JP Duminy/Temba Bavuma, Quinton de Kock, Kagiso Rabada, Kyle Abbott, Dane Piedt, Morne Morkel

I think they can do without Bavuma and Faf du Plessis and I think Amla and Duminy will have to pull up their socks drastically or they will have to go as well.
Cricket is fare too politically orientated to allow for proper development of the sport in SA agree with AJ here. .    

 Mike and AJ you will have those ranters warped DUD and plump pie calling you racist.
Our cricket is in a mess and we cannot hope to keep the number 1 test ranking. Lets see how they try to right the ship.

Faf, Bavuma, Abbott and Piedt must go. Amla is a class act in poor form. He will come good but should not be the captain.
We don't have a worthy spinner...JP and Elgar can do the job.

Biggest insult of all was young de Bruin not making the SA A side that played England before the test. The same guy with a first class average of over 50 and who made 160 odd and 200 odd against England A last year. How fucking stupid are our selectors?
Rabada, Rossouw, de Kock are musts for the next test.

Google it Beeno - looks like he now wants to lighten his load in all formats. 

 As far as I know Ab is not thinking of quiting tests. He wont be playing wicket keeper at Newlands  - looks like De Kock is back and rightly so.Piedt didnt do badly. I liked his variations and he keeps his nerve. Given our batting woes Duminy may have to shoulder the off spin and another batsman comes in. Would be very tough on Piedt. I would perhaps drop Duminy and bring in a bat who performs. Duminy averages 32.8 over a long period. Has not made the grade.
Bavuma out in comes De Kock. Kabada in for Steyn. But that leaves us with only three seamers. Kaliis, Polly, Klusener etc were worth their weight in gold.Too many problems. If guys like Amla and Faf dont come right is there the quality available? I see dispite the current slump Faf is still avaeraging 42.

 One of the big problems is no one who has a paid position can talk openly about problems. If they speak out regarding quotas they will be fired.

Beeno...AB has been ticked off since the WC semi where the unfit Philander was forced into the team ahead of an in form Kyle. Of course it will be dressed up in workload issues etc. But ultimately the players themselves are getting ticked off by quota picks and ANC policies, and rightly so. What we need, is for the players themselves to bring action against the government in the form of mass strike and via officially requesting the IRC and ICC to step in and ban SA from international participation until all discrimination in sport is ended. The fact is, it is up to governments to ensure grass roots structures and upwards are in place so that national selections can occur without biased to race but rather on merit. If the players who are affected will not stand up and make a case, how can we expect the unions to take action when nothing has been brought before them. Whites will unfortunately always look after number one first, and in this case it means each white player would rather protect his own public persona rather than put his head above the radar and speak out. Unfortunate, but true. And we live in a PC world where accusing any other race than the white one of being racist is a non-starter. In other words, saying that blacks are discriminating against whites is stating an impossibility, or, it is impossible for it to happen. If the rugby and cricket players would stand up and make their feelings known, then things might change. Failing that, I can't see any other method of ending all of this.

Constitution - No person may be discriminated against "unfairly". Unfairly being the limitation on the right to not being discriminated against. In other words, it is legal in SA to discriminate against somebody who has an unfair advantage. The argument of fair and unfair can go on for ever and a day. My view is that any discrimination is unfair. There is no way to justify discriminating against an innocent generation...IE Anyone in SA about 35 years or younger. But yes, the players and administrative members are not allowed to "talk out" about internal issues. Though this is how I see it going and I wish the players would underatand it. All players against quotas go on strike(a constitutional right which is practiced by everyone in SA) and they also write a formal letter to sports governing bodies underlining the discrimination they face. Then, the ANC sack all of them due to breach of contract. Suddenly a mass of national and international sportsman are banned form their trade in South Africa. The international media cotton on to this issue and a veritable shytestorm ensues which might not only highlight discrimination in sport but probably economic discrimination too. Hopefully enough international pressure is put on the ANC and they embarrass themselves enough that a change in policy is forced. I don't think any of the above is too farfetched. The problem is as I said...Whites are prone to looking after number one. AB, JDV, Dale and Morne Steyn would much rather play for foreign clubs, earn a ton of money and own massive houses in Cape Town then actually try to risk their status by fighting for what is right. And, if that is the case. I mean if whites won't stick up for each other...then do we really deserve to be treated fairly? Because to be treated fairly, surely one must also be willing to put yourself on the line to fight for was is right/fair.

 
Nothing will change ... no matter how much so called pressure gets put on the Government.

It'll just be ignored as is the case with everything else in the country.

If the Government does relent, it would open doors for all the other injustices of the country ... and they know it.

Black preferences in the work place ... only black shareholders in certain companies ... blah blah blah ...

They are happy with the oppressive, racist state thi s country's in ... I can't see them changing that any day soon.

 

The original rumour thrown out there was that AB was going to retire after the England series. He then qualified the position saying he wanted to reduce his work load in all formats of the game.
He is clearly an unhappy man.....just shows how out of touch the coach is loading the keeping duties on him when we have the more than able de Kock at our disposal.

 Beeno Piedt is a bog ordinary spinner no better than JP or Elgar our part timer spinners. So selecting him is wasting a space in the side. England have it right in turning their part timer spinner into their only spinner. Ali originally made their side as a bat.
Piedt is no better than Harmer or Petersen that we have employed in the past - all average. Just like Abbott is as a seamer.
