Proteas limp to defeat

Both sides struggled on a difficult pitch for stroke making. Pollard and Rossouw played the key innings, but Pollard's superior strike rate helped. All the bowlers were decent, given the pitch favored them. Phangiso got Bravo with a really good ball. 
If anything we just looked flat. De kock  missed a reasonable chance in the first over and conceded byes....and in general the fielding was not as crisp as usual.

The whole game was oddly low key, empty ground in the middle of nowhere. I hope the vibe improves.

The Protea's ain't cutting themselves any favours by  persisting with Behardien. Quentin remains immature, he failed to adjust after the 7th over when the Windies attack tightened and bowled to the wicket while he persisted in playing crossbat shots. Morris above all proved disappointing with the bat and to not bat through the overs is suicidal. Morkel is the obvious replacement for Abbott and Faf has to replace Behardien, there isn't anyone else in the batting. It would help if the Protea batsmen in general put a price on their wicket.

 And AB is going through a very lean period. When the commentators put some lipstick on the slow scoring rate saying AB was just setting himself up to explode in the later overs, the obvious proviso was he didn't get out for no real reason....which he did.

 This is as per normal a real deficient BS discussion.  Where did the blame really lie?   I'il say not with De Kock - but with all of Amla, De Villiers and the rest of the batsmen bar Rossouw for not even trying to maintain a decent run rate and went out too cheap.   De Kock ended up with 30 runs from 34 balls when he tried to hit a boundary.  After he went out for the next 23 overs there was not a single boundary his by either Rossouw and De Villiers.  Fact is De Villiers did not get a single boundary I his 31 runs and never even tried.  For heaven's sake this was an ODI not a test.   By the way Duminy and Behardien is not even remotely internationals anymore - the typical BEE selec tions.           

 So....two posters have ventured their opinions only for you to call it BS. Why is ours BS but yours is not? You come across as arrogant, dismissive and downright condescending.

 Denny - no I am realistic.   The outburst against De Kock was uncalled for and absolute rubbish.  The real culprits were De Villiers and the other batsmen bar Rossouw - who also batted at a very slow rate but at least got a sufficient number of runs.    De Kock will always try to maintain a reasonable run rate and may fail in the process - the rest was not interested yesterday.

The demented old Coot is complaining about an attack on de Kock's batting....whereas the only comment about de Kock was about his wicket keeping. Comprehension is at about a 10 year old level.

 He obviously doesn't read through the posts and instead of expressing his own opinion he attacks the man, not the ball. I had no intention of buying into your daily spats and I avoid reading those posts but I now see what you and Ceradayne have to put up with.
He clearly despises Amla, dissed him a while ago, mind you he's the only poster who has, dissed Graeme Smith long before anyone else and he's the only person I know who dissed Fourie Du Preez just because of one game who in his opinion put up a terrible performance on the day. Funny thing is he accuses you of the very same thing. 

 There seems to be a perception that I want to communicate with this fool....nothing could be further from the truth. 

BS as per normal,   Pollard hit sixes at will - the SA batsmen and other than De Kock could not manage to hit fours - but De Kock gets blamed for the loss. 

 Perfectly understandable, Moz. Exactly my feelings as well after what I've just experienced first hand. Even though I've said..."Morris above all proved disappointing with the bat and to not bat through the overs is suicidal." and...."It would help if the Protea batsmen in general put a price on their wicket." ...the Clown is still banging away that I hold De Kock entirely responsible for the loss....mind boggling !

Sad to say
Gone are the days when I actually looked forward to watching SA cricket.
Honestly, I would much rather watch an IPL game now, than a SA T20 or ODI game
What a shambles our sport has become

 Well, some of the foot soldiers will have to step up, the Ozzies won't be taking any prisoners. Game on tomorrow.

 Not much of a game against the Windies. Nice to see Starcke back, effortlessly over 145 ks and sometimes over 150....a little wild, but so much more fun than the trumped up medium pacers.
All the spinners looked effective, especially Narine...but it was a sticky pitch again.
