Quinton brings back memories of the WC

Missing balls for byes....appealing instead of catching the nick. It was a dark reminder of his botched run out attempt which cost us the WC. Should he ever stand up to van Zyl? 
Hopefully he is coming in down the order and might make a few runs.

 Moz, the only way to make the step up from first class to tests, is to play tests against the best. The sensors can't continue forever and historically our best players started young....in cricket and in rugby. Some take longer to come of age, Kallis being a prime example of a player that needed time to take the next step up. QDK has all the goods, all he needs is time, and some guidance from the experienced players around him. It does not help that the old hands in the team is also struggling. Main problem ATM is confidence...we lack believe.  We need a solid fighting victory.

 Your memory is all slanted so more of the standard drivel on your part.   When are you going to accept that change is necessary and that we will have to learn to accept it and forget about prejudice?  

Oh so he didn't botch a simple bumper from Rabada, miss the ball entirely when Piet almost got a wicket through the gap....and miss a catch while he was stupidly appealing for lbw.
And that's just watching perhaps 20 per cent of the action.
Draad you say Quinton has it all. I have to disagree. He has a 'slingy' batting style with the angled bat well away from the pads. He does have an eye and good timing. That saves him against lesser fast bowlers. Against the best he is a liability....just like Miller....another over hyped middle career gun.

 He needs time and guidance,  a good eye is gold for a midorder bat, technique can be adjusted and coached,  ability and natural talent not. Graeme didn't have the best technique around, but he had a good eye and the will and perseverance to succeed at the top. I'm not saying QDK has what it takes mentally,  but he has proven that he has natural ability.  Only time in the middle will show if he has what it takes. Cricket is 80% in the head.

 Well I agree with that....he certainly needs time. The point is Tokkie and Dave were howling for his inclusion 2 years ago. Way premature, and I can't say he looks much better yet. Face it he wouldn't make any of the other top 5 teams.

 Tests are a whole different ball game than the short stuff and I suspect his best spot is probably 7 for now, but he is no test opener. Gilch rist opened in ODI's but batted at 6 in tests IIRC?

 If QDK had it all then he would have had footwork, to my eye he has none. Let's not confuse eye/hand co-ordination with footwork.

 And QDK fails yet again!!!!
