Ceradunce

I look strictly at performance since June 2018 after he skipped the EC tests and then did perform averagely the EOYT,   That was all there is to the above.  "

I see. Y ou mean like when he, according to you, resorted to cheating to get out of games.......?

I think it may be that Vermeulen did not put in a credible performance and saw a way out of completing the game.   An injury like he pretended he suffered would have kept any player out for weeks if not months  and the fact is it did not in this case.

Vermeulen was excellent in the first two June tests last year and was poor in the third.   He then du cked out of the RC tests and came back for three tests in November where he was just about satisfactory,     That caused me to worry about him.  He did some good work in the WC - especially in the final - and for that he deserve praise of the highest.order.

Mozart

How many players only play for 20 minutes in any test according to you?

Here is one quote:-

"Du Toit should be used on the bench - since he cannot play longer than 20 minutes in a match - a useless player that cannot make claim to any position - he is no lock and no loosie."

I remember another one you made a similar statement on - namely that  Lood de Jager only plays for 20 minutes and that he is a school yard bully.

I can quote dozens of quotes about De Allende as well - at least three of them based on outright lies - so is he also playing f or twenty minutes in tests?

Any comments - please.   I need some laughing incentives,  .

Lood's metres in the final, 1m in 1 run. Against Wales, 5m in 5 runs. Against the minnows? Bigger carries. He is most certainly a flat track bully. Interestingly, his average is worse than Thor's third test against England last year. Egg or crow, you never relay your preference.

Ja well Lomp tried to tackle Vunipola, got monstered and now sadly is out of the game again. Mostert tackled Vunipola several times in the goal line stand alone.....he sort of specialized in stopping the big fella dead. One of  Eraser's mistakes corrected by providence.

Mozart

Now that is a new one - I asked a simple question about playing for 20 minutes by players and as expected did not get a reply.   I also wants to know why that vicious remark on Providence to thank for the injury to De Jager in the final.  Have you got no shame?????????

AO

De Jager will pl ay more tests for SA - Mostert won't.

Actually I was wrong about Dud, he plays for 40 minutes.....the whole second half. As for the first half, he preserves energy.
Actually I felt sorry for Lomp when he got hurt, I actually had my shoulder dislocated in a tackle once.....but in those days you never went off, so my scrummie said 'wheel your arm'....it popped back in and I played on.
So I know how painful and disconcerting that particular injury is. But given the huge role Mostert  played in our defence, the loss of Lomp hel ped the cause.

Mostert is physically much weaker than De Jager - proven fact - and there is no question as to De Jager be a better tackler than Mostert and a stronger ball carrier.  How do you know that if De Jager stayed on he would not made stronger tackles than Meyer is capable of?

The only idiot that underrate Du Toit's work rate in games.   No rugby expert in the rugby world would come of that IDIOCY.

Still smarting because Du Toit is the World Player of the Year for 2019 - something Matfield never achieved,   OK - I am sorry for you - I cry you a river,

I really rate Notshe - I love ball playing loosies. Has plenty of skill and pace. Should have won many more Bok caps - better player than the likes of Louw, van Staaden, Cassiem etc He is only 26 and a move to the Sharks will do him good. He also appears to have bulked up which is a must

As for Lomp....big, slow, low energy, not great in the lineouts......fortunately we had Mostert available when Vunipola ran over him.

Mostert was his usual crap self. Made 0m in 5 runs shock shock. He was also the only forward to miss tackles when England were attacking our line. Lood was great all WC so much so that some writers had him in their team of the WC. No mention was made of powder puff Mostert Lood has bulk, power, good speed for a lock, great hands and high work rate He is not twice the player Mostert is he is 10 times the player There is a reason useless Mostert got dropped from the starting 15 for the impressive Lood. It’s man vs boy when it comes to the two of them I hope we NEVER see powder puff in a Bok jersey again Up there with Albert vd Bergh, Franco vd Merwe, Marco Wentzel and Johan Muller as worst Bok locks ever Test rugby is for physically imposing locks not thin little boys who are too lazy to spend time in the gym. There is no place for physical liabilities in the engine room. Mostert weighs the same as Frans Steyn - therein lies the problem Mostert would have made a good partner with Frik du Preez not Eben

The dwell ran dry once Plodder faced more physical opposition. What was it? 0 in 1 run against England? 5 in 3 against Wales? This anaemic production was nothing of note. Lood is no test lock. To matters worse, Mostert provided stopping power where Lood rolled a red carpet. Overrated. Just like you want them. Kolisi, Notshe (roadkill in every test to date) and Dayamani? Need I go on? Class acts.

It’s impossible to take you seriously. But fortunately what counts is the fact that our coach sees it my way which is all that matters. His dropping of powder puff for Lood should have happened soon but I guess Lood’s injury put pay to that

Damian was a dud inside six minutes when on the front foot. No world class 12 does that. Lood was run over, Mostert withstood the pressure and punched back. Case closed. Lood, the flat track bully and Damian, the clown centre.

Allende is a crashballer, who has never created a test try for another player and can't tackle in space. The nature of this world cup and our narrow tactics has rewarded his crashballing and hidden his one dimensional nature. Guys like Kerevi and Goodhue will have him for breakfast again next year in  Super rugby.

Really? Shall I resurrect your embarrassing defence of the Lood miss against Australia? Interesting. Lood's miss was the act of a class act, a textbook tackle; Frans preventing a certain try in a World Cup final after another Damian flub was nothing. This is how one-eyed you are. As dishonest as Lügnerin, but even more vain.

You were one of those experts who didn't see Damian concede three tries against Australia in 2015, yet you peddled along the media narrative. You also didn't see anything wrong with Lood being run over, yet had much to say about the weak Mostert who downed the very same player who fell Lood the tree trunk.

Yes, your analytics is nonexistent. Your solitary eye as glazed as the expression on Lügnerin's face. Go on, tell me again how stupid I am. Tell me something new. You're sounding more and more stock by the day. Perhaps a little dig at your ego will stir you into something a little interesting. Gosh, maybe another Christmas list of players.

The Boks won the RWC with a terrible coach. The worst 7 of all top tier nations, who obviously bribed his way to World Rugby Player Of The Year. The kakkest 12 in world rugby, who has done nothing ever, except fail the Boks in every way. And then there is the famous Lood, who in his whole Springbok, career has done nothing but miss a tackle on Kaino costing the Boks a world cup. I guess the win must be down to divine intervention or bribery? Or maybe, just maybe, those with the idiotic opinions above are trying to defend the indefensible argumments they had prior to the world cup? And they still have nerve to try to imply that others have egg dripping down their faces.

De Allende's defense has been a problem in the past. That has been remedied. His defence in this world cup was fine. He scored a game changing individual try against Wales. Yet all you can see is a missed tackle against Wales in the past. Have a look at the meaning of the word bias. Failing that, just have a look in the mirror, you will find the illustrated version of the explanation.

The Boks beat every team who couldn't cope with their physicality. Do you honestly believe our attacking play was good? This was entirely about defence and set pieces, as well as the breakdown. Where was Steph at the breakdown against Wales and England? Where were his big carries? How about Lood? Once the bigger teams came up, Lood's production dried up. Who was it who delivered? Thor, Even and Louw. Three players the experts last year said should retire. Steph, Damian and Lood did not elevate the Boks. Mostert comes on for Lood, and out produces him, again.

As for Rassie? I said he is average. And he is. Where can we see anything more than average? Even more, if we strip away the defence of Nienaber, what exactly do we have left?

No, this bloated praise of the passengers has been effortlessly debunked.

No Aug, you have debunked nothing. You can't have it both ways. If the team is dotted with rubbish players as you claim, then the only way they could have beaten a bloody strong English outfit, with arguably one if the best coaches in the game, is by having a brilliant game strategy which would have to be attributed to the coach. Which is something you also dispute.

Teams dotted with poor players in critical positions, and with average coaches don't dominate very strong teams with excellent coaches. Its as simple as that.

Lastly, I never said anything about our attacking play being good. Rassie found a way to nullify the English game and ultimately dominate them. Even with a limited ability to attack . That's how effective his strategy was. Which again points to his astuteness (I think I am making up words here) as coach.

bluebok, you have to remember that Omlett here sees himself very differently to the way everyone elses sees him.

Omlett lives in this fantasy world where he debunks everything with "effortless ease", where he understands things that us lesser mortals can't and where he brings a "glut" of "heavily substantiated opinions" to the forum.

The reality is that he's a dull-witted rugby noob who says a lot of stupid stuff and all he brings to the table is his pathetically biased prejudice against players that he hates. That's what everyone else sees but it doesn't stop Omlett's fantasies or his delusions of adequacy.

Mozart

Who turned De Allende into a crashballer?  Meyer was the main problem - that was particularly clear in 2015 in the WC - where De Allende more frequently than not.received hospital passes according to the Meyer dumb plan if that could be called a plan and not a shambles.

Up until this year people even on this site asked why De Allende's game has changed to the negative.   Even I had one stage in 2018 that he should not be in the Springbok team,

He at last this year showed that he is back to the player he used to be before  Meyer got hold of him.   However, he seemed to improve drastically under Erasmus and he was lauded by the media for a much - improved WC performance.

It is always amazing how dud coaches manage to destroy not only teams - but also individual players.

Blue, this game was won by territorial dominance and set-piece dominance, as well as breakdown dominance. A litany of mistakes from Damian has already been exposed. Next? Where is the production of Steph? What stood out in that final? You still haven't provided one tangible detail to defend Steph. No one has ever been able to do that. His ball carrying was anemic, his presence at the breakdown was average to poor - being cleaned away easily in that first half in particular, what else was there? As for Lood? Run over and injured, what did he do when he was on the field? Mostert bettered him, Beast dominated in the scrum which was the single greatest factor in beating England, and the likes of Faf, Willie, Am, Mapimpi, Thor and Eben did the bulk of the rest. Look at every key moment in that game, you do not see Steph, Lood or Damian. If you think you know of something, then reference it, and I'll put it here. The challenge has been open to everyone all since before the World Cup.

As for Rassie, he is indeed a very average coach. Defence, very poor attack even in most tests we physically dominate. We are a blunt, heavily scripted and linear team, modelled on the Stormers. That isn't an opinion, that's a fact. For all the howls about kicking under Meyer, when he was very successful, now we have Rassie getting a free ride for reducing the Boks' game? He has taken us away form trends in the game. We struggle to beat teams we cannot physically bully. That was the Straeuli model too. You cannot deny this. There is no record of Rassie being a flexible or adaptive tactician at any level of the game. Every team he has coached has deteriorated as an attacking force. Coetzee was blamed for the Stormer's failures, but once separated from each other we see definitive proof that Rassie's fingerprint was all over that team, now he wants the same setup as before, a figurehead coach who can be his flack jacket whilst he soaks up the praise. I can't respect that.
