Not sure if this is dumb or smart of Rassie, but there are clearly inconsistencies in this game.

Let's hope that we can get some more fair reffing.

Advantage of having a pro-active Director of Rugby

Sounds like the usual whining about refs every time the Springboks lose a test match. Nic Berry was excellent on Saturday and while there were a few moments of confusion between Berry and TMO Marius Jonker, they arrived at the right decisions eventually.

Nothing wrong with the refs and as I've said countless times, rugby is arguably the most difficult sport in the world to officiate and if you want perfect reffing then you're better off finding another sport to follow.

I don't know, Rassie has some valid points. Especially how Kolisi was shut down and ignored by Barry. Definitely some bias from the ref

The tip tackle on willie tells the tale and reveals the bias. Nigel Owens was a pretty good ref and knows the laws.

Predictably, so predictably, ou redrooi defends plain bad refereeing. Its his trade mark. He will find any excuse to do so.

Rassie should shut up, stop embarrassing himself and let Nienaber do the job that he's paid to do.

These whiny tweets along with the whole water-boy fiasco are not doing Rassie's reputation any good.

Disagree Rooi - there was no compelling evidence that Willie was ahead of the kick to overturn the on field decision of a try Watson was definitely a tip tackle and as a minimum should have been a yellow The TMO fucked up not the ref

"Disagree Rooi - there was no compelling evidence that Willie was ahead of the kick to overturn the on field decision of a try"
Nonsense. Willie was clearly ahead of Am when the ball was kicked. I knew that try would be disallowed the instant it happened. It was obvious in real time and even more obvious on the replays.
For every whine about who should have gotten a yellow or red card there's one that didn't go the other way either. Am could have been carded in the first few minutes for a no arm tackle and Faf could have been carded for diving.
I wish we could man up as a nation and take these defeats with a bit of grace instead of bleating and whimpering like . . . well . . . like Baboon-ou!

Bwahahahahahhaha ou rooitwit defending bias against the Boks to favour his B I Lions side.

Ou rooitit is a turncoat for sure.

I racall a very bad for rooitwit incident. A sharks player was tip tackled and landed on his head. That huge cheat Aussie ref Stuart Dickinson gave the sharks a penalty when it clearly was ared.

I and others pointed this out. Ou rooitwit came out with his standard drivel about whining about the ref and manning up etc. Its the same story every time no matter what has happened.

So there we were defending the Sharks team's right to be fairly refed and there was that turncoat rooitwit opposing us as best he could.

I expected nothing less from rooitwit he is terribly predictable. The notion of fair play is foreign to this bent twit!

The lions were the stronger team towards the end, but I think the boks plan was to get ahead and hold on.

It doesn't help when you have key decisions go against you. Especially 5 that could have made it a completely different game.

Beast tip tackled a bloke in the WC and got a straight yellow. No debate there. But I think Rassie is putting his neck on the line.

Side entry from the players

Sealing off the ball

Not rolling away or deliberately holding the player in

Line outs not being straight

These are valid and the ref should pay more attention

The way we played in the second half we did not deserve to win it but we could have Disagree on the offside, analysis on Facebook shows the ball slightly in front of Willie on impact by Am. On field was a try - compelling evidence needed to overturn the on field call. There was no compelling evidence Tip tackle should have been a card It was poor TMO decisions by a man who usually gets them spot on

South Africa could have been pinned for many sloppy tackles and their even sloppier work at the breakdown. Plastics are upset because the ref had the opportunity to gift SA an undeserved win. That's the beginning and end of the matter. The Boks played some of the messiest rugby I have seen in a long time. I'm talking some of the structureless messes in 2002.

Willie wasn’t ahead of Am….but Dud Allende’s pass was clearly forward, out of the hands and way forward on the field.

The Hamish Watson tackle was a clear tip tackle, no different to the Warburton tackle.

Erasmus’ antics on Twitter and  on the field are an embarrassment. He has become the central figure in this series, when he should be allowing Nienaber to establish himself. It’s always all about Rassie a selfish immature man.

Damian's pass wasn't forward, even though Am was ahead and looking behind at Damian as the ball left his hands. You are delusional, about as delusional as the time you denied Lood missed Isi, landing on his face, in 2019, because ESPN didn't say so. That, in spite of video evidence posted.

Augie we both know the  pass was way forward. His hands were  going forward relative to his body and the ball went way forward from his hands to Am’s hands….far more than drift would create.

Nope there is absolutely no Twitter controversy at all. Feel free to enlighten us on the controversy though de Allende’s pass was not forward as the TMO correctly verified

I don’t know who is more bizarro Dave, you or the Great Erasmus:

CAPE TOWN (Reuters) -South Africa's director of rugby, Rassie Erasmus, posted an hour-long video on Twitter on Thursday airing numerous grievances over the refereeing in the first test of the British & Irish Lions tour, before saying he would "step away" for the last two tests.

The Boks and Lions have each repeatedly voiced their displeasure at the officiating for the three-test tour, starting before the series began and leading to growing tensions between the two camps' officials.

Erasmus stopped short of accusing the match officials of cheating in the video posted on Twitter, but he used 26 video clips to explain his unhappiness with their work in Saturday’s 22-17 first test loss in Cape Town.

He said he would take full responsibility for any fallout the video might have - although it remained unclear what exactly he meant about stepping away for the upcoming tests.

It was also unclear who exactly the video was intended for, although it may be World Rugby.

"I’ll step away from the last two Test matches, but let the Springboks and the Lions have an equal chance on the field when it comes to laws, respect, the way players get treated, what is said in a pre-match coaches meeting with the referees, how they give feedback post that, and how things get said in the media," Erasmus said.

Erasmus expressed frustration at what he suggested was uneven refereeing at the weekend.

"I'm not saying the referee was a cheat at all, I'm saying we just wanted clarity on a Sunday night and didn't get (it) until a Tuesday and, to be honest, I am not very convinced with the clarity we got from (Australian referee) Nic Berry," Erasmus said.

"I've had previous encounters where I made mistakes, saying things in public about referees, and normally it comes back to bite you, but in this instance the Lions only comes around every 12 years."

…….

I mean what is he saying, that’s it’s okay to make mistakes because the next Lions series is 12 years away?  This guy is increasingly acting like a complete nutter. And I guess that’s pretty clear evidence of a Twitter controversy,

Rassie looks like he is starting to feel the pressure. Being one down in a 3-match series is up shit creek without a paddle.

Saying he will walk away from rugby could be the pressure from "Sir" Clive Woodward.
Rassie should just have reminded everyone about the disastrous tour the Lions had under Woodward. Gatland has done much better in his time as Lions coach.
