He is certainly on track to claiming this accolade No coach comes close other than Kitch and to a lesser extent Mallett when he had his great run before losing the plot I was disappointed in the Boks yesterday. I expected them to carry on from where they had left off from the second half of the second test. But like England in the WC semi, the Boks had played their best game in that second test. Yesterday stretched the Boks to rely on all their reserves to somehow muster that win. Credit to Rassie and the team he has built - they are able to dig deep, believe and win even when not in full command of a game. It’s the mark of a great side As for our best coach of all time - it does not get better than: Taking us from 7 to 1 Beating NZ in NZ Winning the RC Winning the WC Winning the Lions series Simply the best - simply outstanding

Joost said on ESPN that Kitch wasn't a good technical coach, but a good man manager. Kitch had to just keep an elite group confident for a few games. Played only three games away: Wales twice, Italy and England. Hardly great sample size and none of those teams were a power at the time.

José is the only Bok coach aside from Peter to rely on the input from others. Krutch does all the technical installs in training. He is the foundation of the Bok blueprint. There is no evidence of José coaching aside from the Bok's slide in attack output, which mirrors the mediocre rugby played by the Stormers.

José is beneath Jake (our best coach), Meyer (our most sophisticated coach who truly took the Boks into the modern age), Mallett (an above average coach), Straeuli, Viljoen, and about on par with Snor.

He is the best coach in ages, if not the best.

The umbrella Nienaber defense really works well for the Boks. They can absorb pressure for ages and push the opposition to play closer to the forwards.

The Boks do need to work on the backline attack more, as the Lions series was very close.
If the opposition has a good day in the air under the high ball, it does give them parity.

For the Boks to beat the All Blacks consistently they need to get the outside backs into the game more.
Kolbe is lethal and can turn games on their head. Mapimpi has a better try-scoring rate than Habana.

The Bok gameplan needs an overhaul. When under pressure, they fold a lot. We need Ackermann. Skop 'N Pop is not sustainable. As things stand, so long the opposition play very badly, we are in with a shout. Very low standards. The Boks are playing abysmal rugby.

Nine coaches have better win records. Jake was better, and more competitive against better Wallaby and All Black sides. Meyer kept the Boks playing better and more consistently good for longer. José had an abysmal 2018 and then two key games in 2019, then the chicken run to extend the ranking (double ranking points in the WC lifted the Boks from 5th/6th where they belong under José and Krutch). That an the ugliest Lions series I have ever seen. About on par with the 74 series (which is available on YouTube).

Yes Dave, Rassie is proving to be one of our best coaches for sure. Rassie's stats are spoilt by the fact he had to rebuild the team from their number 7 ranking slump. He had to sift players etc.

But the record you list is extremely impressive.  You have to be the most obstinate of boneheads to suggest otherwise. But of course theRWC win was against weak opposition as was the win against the Lions. These nutters should be embarrassed by their BS by now. They are becoming a laughing stock hoping only for a better day when Rassie loses some game or other. But NOTHING can take away from what he has achieved. It stays on the record books.

Half bakes like the the Org sprout stats with zero context and that is why the loon is in such a deep pit blabbering away about things he has no clue about.

They search high and low, far and wide to find a reason to find anything to denigrate Rassie. But the more Rassie wins the more unhinged they become. Call it what it is - RDS (Rassie Derangement Syndrome as daft, as absurd, as TDS)

Meanwhile full on Boks supporters rejoice at the series win and congratulate all concerned in the Bok camp. The Rassie haters now are in the position where they find themselves longing for a Bok loss. It cant come quick enough to relieve the agony! Its getting pretty pathetic oaks.

So Don't worry Be Happy! Hahhahahahahahahaha

Let me help…..Jake took over the Boks when they were ranked 6th in May of 2004 and 4 months later he won the Trinations. And he did it playing rugby….not the limited game we are currently playing.

In any case I thought Nienaber is  the coach and Erasmus is the water boy
