How can people uinderstand what happened thus far today - it is against all logic.  I cannot believe  my eyes -

*    The Reds giving the Chiefs a snotklap - no bonus point;

*    The Blues playing the fool with the Hurricanes - really beaten badly - no bonus point;

*    The Kings beating the Rebels - I gave them a very good chance though; and

*    The Force beating the Crusaders.

This really was a bad weekend for New Zealand Rugby - their so-called all top teams beaten after the Brumbies gave the Highlanders a real hard snotklap last night.

Oops-  I have thus far one prediction right this weekend on Superbru and most of them badly wrong.   Guess I was not the only one.

Hahahahahaha! Oom Maaik if memory serves you had the Sharks by 6 to 12. This is turning into a calamity......what was that about sackcloth and ashes?

Poor old Mike doesn't have a clue....I think he picked the Cheetahs to beat the Bulls at Loftus as well. Stupidissimo!

At least I am brave enough to say clearly what I believe would happen based on the form of the teams as displayed thus far.   You quack about nothing and is also wise after the fact.   I do not  think that any of the form teams won today - that is why I was really surprised by the results.    Onre can undestand one or two upsets - but this weekend if form is taken into account - there really was five upset results out of seven.

The two teams showing form that won were the Brumbies and the Kings (fter their performance against the Brumbies last week.   The Highlanders is probably the team that would be  on th bottom of the log - they really are poor despite all th big-name players on contract with them.

I must admit I was originally not happy wit the Kings sitaution - but I must admit they showed one thing and that is a will to fight. .

De Jongh was useless for two years and had atrocious performances in the two tests he played iin last year.  he is not a suitable selection at 13 for the Boks and that is a fact - no need for me to apologize for that statement at all.

Must I quote his stats for the two tests again?   Will not help - since you only beleve in stats if it serves your purpose. - but here it is again:-

C de Jongh 0/0 0 0/0/4 12 0 2 0 1 4/1 0/0 0 0/0 C de Jongh 0/0 0 0/1/0 0 0 0 0 0 3/0 0/0 0 0/0

If the above is aceptable performance indicators for a Springbok player - then we deserve to get what is inevitable - a dead backline.   De Villiers created two of the tries he scored - he only had to dot down the ball.   He has none of the abilities of a natural center and is not Springbok material.   End of story.

Yes and I quoted you his stats for every test he has started....which is much more valid than simply quoting two tests. And his stats were fine on attack and spectacular on defence. Look if you don't have it in you to just admit he has twice scored the winning tries against the Sharks, after you ran him down ceaselessly before the game....don't. But please don't pretend there is any principle involved klip kop.

Why do you always act as if you are dumb and a bad interpreter of situations.   Firstly De Jongh scored one try against the Stormers and two against the Cheetahs.  In the latter game he effectively cost them the win buy his atrocious defence - he vanished from sight in the second half of the game and did the Twickenham trick on the Stormers.

If he did not score that try against the Sharks after De Villiers passed the ball to him with an open line in front of him he would not b a centers ass.   One of the tries against the Cheetahs resulted from a serious oversight by the referee in any event.

Lets look at the stats in the two game though:

Nine tackles made - 5 missed - made good reading does it not?   He got the ball 23 times and passed it 6 times and off-loaded the ball once an scored 2 tries from backline moves.   What happened to the other 14 times - nothing at all.    

I really am not interested what De Jongh did three years ago at all - I am interested in what he did over the last six months.  Really funny though - since it is not reflective of a players present capacities at all.    Dunce thinking you use constantly.

I have to conclude you just can't admit an error when you are emotionally invested in your position. But, hey, that's fairly typical in today's world. Honesty is a rare commodity.

My name is not Mozart.  I look at games as a whole and not only specific incidents and then build on that the idea that a player is Springbok material.  De Jongh could easily have caused problems for his team in the CC final - by giving away stupidly two penalties - both converted by Lambie.   If he scored the try and did not give away 6 points - I would have said he did well.  

In the Cheetahs game he scored two tries - but his absent defence was a major reason why the Stormers lost the game,  Matter of fact he was absent from the game Twikenham style for the whole of the second half of the game.

Yesterday Daniel and Steyn was complaining about exactly the same problem that De Jongh was penalized for last year in the CC final - so what changed?   If Joubert blew him up for that it could have been an entuirely different ball game - he fortunately got away with it - any other ref could have penalized his team for that.

I am not saying anything about the tries he scored - I am saying that his defence has disintegrated.   In the tests last year he vanished from sight and was not a factor at all - for all that matter he was a non-player.   He was absent in attack and absent in defence.   Lets just look at the defense stats of him and the other players at 13 in Super 15  this year.

Jordaan   -    Tackles made      -    57     Tackles Missed    -   4

Engelbrecht                              -    47                                  -    7

De Jongh                                  -    24                                  -    8

You can find the above on WSPN stats if you do not believe me.  I want to add - that they will make mincemeat of his defence on tour and he will be a serious problem for the Stormers.

De Jongh is defnitely not suitable for Springbok selection - that is my point and I am not prepared to run away from that point at all.

No man Mike!  Skattie, you need to look at a player without being bias.  I read many of these opinions of players and I think hell man you need to take a step back and have another look.  But, we are human and when we are in a hole we dig.. Dig up statistics and little snippits of news and all sorts of everything to underpin our "argument".  Let me tell you, Skattie, to play for any team in the Super Rugby you have to be bloody good, nê.

It's OK, opinions are like assholes, we all have one.  There are players I like not so much too.  Take that Javelin guy with the plastic muscles.. man he is a showpony of note.

De Jonge is a class act - fact.
