The poor wee laddie .His family decided to switch off his life support after friends and family said their final farewells .Spare a thought for the young bowler Abbott who is said to be utterly inconsol able .

Terrible for all concerned and there is no doubt huge grief. Ann indiction again of the fragility of life.
Some oaks here really need to ponder the deep issues and whether one can know anything about what happens beyond the grave. Has the one who made the universe spoken.

Really, really sad news. A really promising cricketer and by all accounts one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet.

Absolutely tragic...this is the first time it's happened in cricket...correct me if I'm wrong...too ghastly for words...I didn't watch the game and heard the news I was stunned...all cricket fans stand by the Hughes family during this tough time and my sincerest condolences to them.
Sport has it's risks and these wonderful top division players...that play it to entertain us become eventually in some strange way a part of us.
Many years ago I remember the tragic Chris Burger tragedy in rugby.
It shocked me...but rugby is more risk prone.
My thoughts go out to Sean Abbott....Sean i t's not your fault.

There is a sadness about this place Australia as it struggle to come to grips with the untimely loss of a quintessential Australian in Phillip Hughes. He embodied everything that is proudly Ozzie, humble, inner strength, self belief and the will to succeed. Flags are flying at half mast across the country as we honour someone robbed of the opportunity to give....recently asked what he would have done if he hadn't played cricket, his response was to work on his father's farm because he loved cattle and animals.
Thanks for the memory,Hughsy...RIP.
