The following from News 24:-
"The Stormers have confirmed that flyhalf Robert du Preez will be out of action for 12 weeks as he recovers from his knee injury.

Du Preez hobbled off in the 45th minute of Saturday’s 20-10 win over the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein, and coach Robbie Fleck confirmed on Tuesday that the 22-year-old was “gutted”.


“He should be fit and ready to go, if all goes well, after the June Tests. It is not the end of his season … and he should be ready before the play-offs,” said Fleck.


“He only got the news yesterday from the surgeon, and at least he doesn’t require surgery. Obviously he’s gutted, but that’s rugby.”


Kurt Coleman, who replaced Du Preez against the Cheetahs, is expected to start this weekend’s clash against the Sharks at Newlands."


Sorry about the injury to De Preez and it is good news that he does not require surgery.


The Stormers will regret this injury massively - since Coleman is not a Super Rugby or CC player - should actually play club rugby.   If I was Fleck i would go for Jean-Luc Du Plessis - Carel du Plessis son - to play at flyhalf.   He was top class in the Under 21 campaign of the WP last year and was a major reason why they won the trophy.

What a frustrating sport. Better to be a fan than a player. 
Imagine getting injured and working hard for 6 months through rehab and gym work- only to be injured again a few matches into play.  Take Arno Botha for example.
It is probably the result of too much creatine. 
They get so bulked up they fall awkwardly and injure themselves.

 Hopefully he can take some time off and visit the barber.
That hair is shocking. Looks like he comes out of an 80's pop band.

In saying that, i prefer coleman anyway.
Not because he is black.

Coleman is a basket case.....he has the kicking yips, much like golfers sometimes get.

Big loss, du Preez is the real deal, Coleman a sad excuse


With Vermaak at 9, Coleman at 10, de Jongh at 12, Kotze at 13 and Lleyds on the wing......that is one average backline

Is Carel s son a 10? I know Willie s son is a centre who was in the Baby Bok side last year that was very disappointing. He is meant to be very good but had very little opportunity in that tournament.

Carel's son Jean-Luc was the back-up flyhalf for Pollard in the NZ Under 20WC.  He was brought on late in one game and initiated an excellent try.   He was the Under 21 fly half last year for the under 21 tournament which WP won.  He was the real star in the backline together with EW Viljoen - so I believe he is the real deal in this case to succeed Du Preez and Fleck will lose the game for the Stormers against the Sharks if Coleman plays.

From what I have seen of Coleman over the last year is that he is actually a average to poor flyhalf and I think Fleck was happy when Du Preez did well and he did no have to play Coleman.  I think the Stormers backline on Saturday will be where the Sharks beat them.
The Sharks has Esterhuizen at 12 against De Jongh who will be run over by Esterhuizen opening space for Jordaan - who has been very good in the past two matches - I also think that Le Roux would have a major impact.  The loosies of the Sharks will also be better than the Stormers ones.   The Sharks will struggle against the Tight 5 of the Stormers - but is that going to be enough?  I think not.  
The Stormers struggled against the Cheetahs newbies and that was not a good sign for the Stormers.   For instance the Stromers backline against the Cheetahs was not the better one and the Sharks has a much better backline than the Cheetahs has.
