 All guesses...

1. Danie Gerber

2. Walsh (because he irritates me the most)

3. 99

4. Lions (Only because there were many Boks before NTvl)

5. Absolutely no idea

MS "Cowboy" Cooksley...  M Jones was indeed a flanker only 1 inch over 6ft was short...I don't know why I ever imagined him as tall...maybe it was because he was so good that "he stood out"...lolz

Ok, curiosity killed the cat, as they say, so I looked up the tallest All Black and for that reason will not give the answer. What I do want to say, though, is that the tallest Springbok is/was 3cm taller than the tallest All Black. LOL

Andries Bekk er was possibly the tallest springbok.Hmmm the wee abs are not that big so trying to think of a tall guy isnt easy. Ian Jones was a stringbean of note?Michael Jones was a loose forward SeB!

No-one has got the tallest All Bla ck question yet.

Blob, you're right, I should have specified that the Springbok with the highest try ratio had played 10 or more tests. Tonderai Chavhanga has scored 6 tries in 4 tests (although all his tries came in the same match!).

At 2.05m, Mark Cooksley is the second tallest All Black of all time.

At 1.98m Ian Jones isn't in the top 20.

By the way, Mark Cooksley's nickname wasn't "Cowboy", you're thinking of Mark "Cowboy" Shaw.

Ok, my research had Cooksley as the tallest  AB and if Retalick is indeed a cm taller, it still makes the taller Bok taller by 2cm. Beeno is correct. Bekker is the tallest Bok at 2.08m.

Number 1. is NOT Danie Gerber 19 tries in 24 tests (Ratio: 0.79). Jongi Nokwe played 4 tests and scored 5 tries (Ratio: 1.25). There, i finally got one right!

Bluebok, scroll up and you'll see I changed the question to specify that the player needed to have played 10 tests or more. Even without that rider you'd still be wrong because Tonderai Chavangha played the same number of tests but scored 1 try more.

Ceradunce, I got my stats from here.

Rooinek, I am not questioning your facts. I just meant that my search had the other guy as the tallest. I just googled "tallest all black". My point was more that our tallest player is taller than the AB tallest. LOL

 1. My gut feel was Danie, but I suspected there was some anomaly with some few test wonder/lucky.2. Would have guessed Walsh or Dickheadson purely because I can remember being POd by them a lot.4. Would still have guessed NTvl, even though they are a young union.Had no idea about the others.

I think you will find that the original call was 999.......but McBride only got to the second 9 when all hell broke loose.......so its always been called 99........but I might be wrong?

999 was far too long for it to be a valid call...that's why they stopped at 99, Saffex

If Bird washed his feet before the measurement, maybe Jaws  would be the tallest.
