Rugby 'yellow' for soccer?

Rugby has an overly complex set of rules, which lead to very inconsistent interpretation. And what sport has a more frustrating phase than the scrum in rugby. Soccer is pleasingly simple and not dominated by the referees. But one thing we do have right in rugby is the yellow card.
Time and again  in soccer we see excellent scoring opportunities negated by deliberate fouls just outside the box. The possibility of accumulating enough yellows to miss some games, often just a needed rest period, is not enough to stop this. Obviously, because it's an expected part of the game.
Ten minutes or even fifteen minutes in a sin bin might clean things up a bit....no it won't eliminate the deliberate foul in the last 5 minutes of a key contest, but it will eliminate the game long fouling which spoils the game today.
