The following is my team of the  Week:-
15  A Coetzee14  R Combrinck13  P Jordaan12  F Venter11  M Mvovo10  R du Preez  9  P Vermaak  8  W Whiteley  7  Jean-Luc du Preez  6  Jaco Kriel  5  P-S du Toit  4  E Etzebeth  3  F Malherbe  2  M Marx  1  R Dreyer
I have 2 problems here.  Both Venter and Jordaan played at 13 - but none of the inside centers were really noteworthy so I selected them as a center pairing.
In the other case I decided to choose two players who were on the bench - Marx and Malherbe.  When they came on the whole scene turned in favour of their sides.
Another thing is that it would probably the first time in Super Rugby history b e that two brothers playing for different provinces would be MOM for their respective teams at the ages 21 and 20 in the same round.  It happened today with the Du Preez brothers.
Two other observations:-
*   I was very happy to see Schickerling coming on taking the first line-out ball and co-ordinating the maul that led to the Stormers bonus point try; and
*  To see that after many years of useless flyhalfs the Stormers seem to have discovered a new top class flyhalf in Robert du Preez.  I wrote last year that they should rather play him play Du Preez at flyhalf than the useless players they were stuck with.  As per normal I was correct in that.

Dave
Please man - prejudice on your part is shining through as badly as Mozart's - so your player evaluation becomes a joke.   Cut out the prejudice and evaluate players properly
As a result of prejudice the biggest load of rubbish from the basis of your evaluation. Tour prejudices are shining through and one wonders what games he was watching when you read his teams.  The worst player in the Lions team was Mnisi - followed closely by Jantjies who was wilting even without pressure even though there was no pressure in the game. Then there was Arno Botha - who produced zero in the Bulls effort.
Three Bulls players in a team that showed near to zero in their game as against 2 Stormers players in a team that wiped the floor with the Bulls,   The Sharks got lucky with 2 players in Dave's team.
This thread was started as a reality check - not as a basis for prejudice and ultra-poor logic.
