Yup D, we don't agree on some things, but we both enjoy test cricket. I am however very worried about the future of test cricket! The series in India did the test format no favours!   

 The way I see it our problems lie with the batting, I don't know the potential of the batsmen in the domestic setup so I assume Elgar and Van Wyk are the best on offer?? Elgar is getting a good run and like everyone I hope he comes good. Van Wyk went through a baptism of fire and he can go one of two ways. The middle-order is a worry,me thinks Amla is not a reliable first drop and should bat down the order but then who then?....perhaps Bavuma? Don't know. The other major lingering concern is that of a decent allrounder? It seems like they are masking the batting deficiencies by bringing in an extra batsman in Riley Rossouw...I can see it working well in the short term on local wickets but that's where it will end. On the bowling side I'm glad to see Morkel realizing his potential, it's taken a long time....Abbott has lifted a notch with his line and length and he can be the surprise in the attack. With AB taking the gloves it seems that there's still no confidence in QDK and that Vilas has been axed.

Guys, I think we need to relax. SA Cricket is very healthy. One poor series of batting doesn't mean we're in trouble. We have a good amount of experienced players with stellar averages and some great new talent coming through. Our bowling depth is about as healthy as it's ever been too. Imagine if every team that came to SA and got done over in a test series was suddenly in deep deep trouble. Somebody has to be on the losing side. This time it was us...granted the batting was well below par. It does happen that two or three players lose form at the same time some times. But that's all it is. Nothing more, nothing less. It's the first away test series loss in almost a decade. Maybe we as fans have been taking all the positive away results for granted. Anyway, if the ABs had our mentality, their recent loss to the USA in the sevens would mean the team needs to be shot and the President of NZ impeached. Poor results happen. NZ will bounce back...social the Proteas.
