Sharks Saders...the unmentionable truth

Coenie was  certainly poor against the Saders and things improved with Adriaanze. But we have seen that story over and over again. To me the real story was how Owen Franks  owned the Beast, scrum after scrum....very disappointing by a Bok icon.
Beyond that Willie was desperately close on that kick chase try...most times that 'try' would have gone unchallenged, it only became clear with freeze photography.
I was impressed by du Preez for the first time in this match. It doesn't really show up in the stats, but he played a smart game. I was also impressed with how calm he remains when the pushing and shoving starts. He may look like a pit bull, but he keeps a calm head.

The Sharks are so poorly served at centre though. We have discussed Jordaan's disappearing act on attack. But Esterhozen is no better. And his clumsy defence set up the last Saders try. First he missed Todd in a simple tackle up the left touch line which got the Saders moving forward and then was slow to react and missed Reid for the winning try.

We have discussed the absolute tripe game plan used by the players.  The only center who ever disappeared in a game was De Jongh in the famous Twickenham test - he did not disappear, he went AWOL.  How can a center perform when a ball is never passed further than the inside center and mostly kicked away.  That was Fransie's type of game that was played last week.  Gold was afterwards fuming about the way the game was played b y the players.
You were caught out about Jordaan and came with the stats reflecting he made no tackles as well - before the stats were finalized.  Mozart when you made your original comments you never saw the game.  Have you since seen the game in full?      

 But Moz what you say about the" Beast " surely cant be true ? Ou mikey says that no NZ prop could ever put in a better performance than his counterpart ,and by his own admission wee  mikey  is infallible .

 Wee Mikey also believes a centre has no obligation to seek the ball...he just stands out there and waits for it to come to him.

 Nonsense - how does an outside center "seek the ball"?  When your inside center crashballs - the only thing an outside center can do is ball protection.  If the ball is kicked away aimlessly by the inside players - the centers must become part of the defense against counter-attack - the chasing is done by the wings and full back.  So please explain how he is supposed to "seek the ball"?
Remember the full back joined the line at times - making the outside center at best the fourth potential ball receiver. 
 





   

The very reason this site bores the crap out of me......we read the same old prejudicial crap.....shock, shock Coenie was crap, Adriaanse so much better.......wow. Well here are the facts, not once did Coenie concede to the Saders loosehead......in fact the Sharks scrum stood rock solid everytime up to the point where for some unknown reason the Sharks scrum as a whole seemed to concede on the second shove. What happened in each scrum is that neither side budged, the scrum stood firm for a good 30 seconds, the Sharks then seemed to be the side to take the foot off as a whole and with it the Saders used the second shove after what appeared to be a lifetime to drive the Sharks back as whole.....blaming Coenie and Beast alone for this is both ignorant and laughable. Average Adriaanse then came on and scrummed against the boring in Crockett and somehow he is better than Coenie.......bullshit These are the facts........but who gives a shit.....I'm bored with it all

Coenie was crap, deal with it. Look David if you are bored take a hike. Mike do you remember how often Fury would position himself as running option off the rucks....that's just one of the things Jordaan could have done to get in the game.

Sure Forget about everything else - like defense and so theoretically one of the things he could have done and did not do. Core now - Mozart - and come up with something realistic for a change and deal with the real world - not a theory. If he was in a position to get the ball and it was NOT passed to him - what then? Or better still of he did and a try was scored as a result of him being out of the defensive line - the vitriol on your part would be unbelievable. But then you came up with the rubbish before you have seen the match - have you seen it by now?

I could turn that around and say forget about everything else...like attack. This little guy run over by Fruean, run over by Kieran Reid to start the slump in the S15 semi...needs to be replaced by a real rugby player. And the tiny tyke should probably play 7s where his pace might be more useful.

Dave With respect the scrum was stagnant - but the ball was not hooked because the hooker did not dare to lift his foot to actually make sure the ball is hooked. The moment that happened the second shove took place and the scrum went to pieces. Fact is the props mist be strong enough to prevent that split second situation and neither Mtawarira nor Oosthuizen was.
