John Smit has friends far and wide. Many of them want pension plans with the Sharks.

John Smit is becoming a poblem for the Sharks set-up. Too many cronies losing jobs with Saracens suddenly turns up for the Sharks and they have ecome a problem for the team. Steves was n good in games he played for the Sharks - Jake White was a disaster - Wentzel was bog ordinary and now he landed us with Botha.
Seems that the wrong issue is at stake here - cronyism.
That isexactly the same typeof thing Meyer is doing iro the national side.
Utimately it is not in the interest of the teams concrned - so both the Springboks and the Sharks are on a downward slide.

He will be back up for PSDT and Lewies. The only other signng so far for next year is Bothma whom I think is a brilliant signing.
Johns biggest mistake was bringing in Jake which was the reason we lost guys like Keegan, Deysel and Whitehead. Thankfully that problem was quickly resolved.
Mike, do you regard Brendan Venter as a crony?

Stu
Both were with Saracens and so there is likely to eb friendship in that case as well. The only positive is that Venter is out and out a person that would not be influneced by friendship and if he has any say in team selection - the best-performing players will be selected.
A bad sign for players like Francois Steyn - White protected him while he buggered up game after game - he will not have the same privilege with Venter and co - he will have to start performing to keep his place in the team.

Brendon is a hardhead. No one will control him. Sharks will do well with him at the helm.
