SHARKS TAKE A STAND AGAINST RACISM. Rugby 365

NEWS: FOLLOWING THE RECENT EVENTS AT THE DISRUPTION OF A VARSITY CUP MATCH IN BLOEMFONTEIN, THE SHARKS HAVE DECIDED TO MAKE A STAND FOR NATIONAL UNITY WHEN THEY HOST THE JAGUARES ON SATURDAY.

The initiative has been named 'Say No to Racism' day  and takes place at Kings Park in Durban.

"We are looking forward to hosting a special match day that sends a strong message about the future of this country. We have all watched with concern recent events that have disrupted the Varsity Cup, and we believe this is an important time for South Africa to stand against racism and unite behind our flag and our Constitution," Sharks CEO John Smit said.

The day will see no fewer than 10,000 national flag masks distributed  to spectators as they arrive at the stadium.

The Jaguares will be stiff opposition for the Durban-based franchise as they are packed with international players.

"The players and coaches made a promising start by defeating the Kings in Port Elizabeth last weekend and they're looking forward to the challenge of a talented Jaguares side packed with Argentine internationals," Smit added.

 Well this is ironic, what do you have to say about that CC

 If they really want to make a stand, they should totally reject quota selections and go on record that they will only pick and contract players on merit.

 The Sharks can stand behind the constitution....the Stormers will stand behind Eben Etzebeth.....I know where I'd rather be.
