I have been chatting on this site for just about as long as the chat feature has been available, but the site is just getting stagnant. This forum has been a regular part of my day for many years now and I want it to stay that way. But there are no new posters. No new articles. No new topics. Same tired arguments between the same old posters. Hell, even the players pictured in the background of this section are retired or forgotten. To top it off, the old guard of posters have started disappearing one by one. I am not saying these things as an unappreciative little whiner, because I am thankful for this platform and the freedom the site offers, but come on...surely I am not the only one noticing this decline ?
There needs to be a serious revamp and a serious drive to attract new members, because I for one am starting to run out of reasons to be here. Effectively, if it stays as is, I am out!

bluebook
It is a continuous problem in the period from the end of November till the start of Super Rugby that there is not much rugby matters to be discussed. The situation should change soon with the start of Super Rugby.
The NH rugby is active in that period and some discussions take place on that - but most of our active members are from the SH countries.
One can only hope that the new season of Super Rugby will improve the situation.

Mike, it is a trend, even during Super Rugby and the internationals last year there was very little activity compared with the past. Seriously, we are building up to to the start of Super Rugby which should be a very active time as far as player and squad discussions are concerned, yet the forum is barely even alive.
I am not dissing the site, I am simply pointing out that something needs to change, and soon. Hell, the Admins can even ask each regular poster to invite one friend (This may be a problem for Beans and TheTrad who probably find friends hard to come by) or something....anything. Advertise the site elsewhere. Ask posters to chip in. Not naming names, but there are enough people here that gloat about their wealth...well lets see it! Invest a few bucks in an advertising campaign for a site that has been a part of many of our lives for a long time.

Seeing you're not short on friends why not ask them to come along?

Fine Denny, I'll do that. How about you?

bluebok, we've had our differences but you know I respect you.
If you seriously want to just hang around this board to talk crap about rugby and have a bit of fun, join the Fantasy game at Foxsports and join the Ruckers Forum league .
There's a good spread of very good posters and very good Fantasy Rugby players who are quite happy just to have a bit of fun rugby banter.
There's also a Springbok vs All Black rivalry . . . although we Yarpies are currently outnumbered. We need the numbers and we don't have anyone dim enough to be a Bulls supporter . . . well, except for Killer Clowns of course, but there are a few theories going around as to his true identity.
We measure ourselves by our ability to recognize Fantasy Rugby value. It really is fun. You should join . . . and get more people to join.
Prizes hopefully soon to be announced!

Maybe someone hired him, you never know. But seriously I don't think he was on the board in the off season last year either so he may show up when SH rugby starts.

I had some Welsh friends have a bit of a look with a view to joining but unfortunately this was before beandork got his own corner stool and pointy hat and they found the endless religious rants off putting .Maybe they need a wee push to have another look while someone distracts beandik with some shiny things har har !

Forums in general suffer from decline: less and less people turn to them to share their passion . They prefer other social media like Reddit or Twitter.
Moreover, SA rugby is in decline. It is about time people show no longer interest in something that must no longer be.
