Well - he did provide an answer to that yesterday. I still think Meyer and Ludeke made bugger-ups in his case - Meyer preferring Fat Willem - the most useless loosie ever representing SA to a player who does top class performances constantly.

@ Mike, lets withhold judgement until the end of the 6 nations. He was't so flash last week against the Scots.

Although there was much written about Stander being poor last week - the stats indicate otherwise. He still had a above average performance last week.
He is a hardworking player - substantially different from Fat Willem and other SA loosies.

Wot against Italy......hahahaha. No passing skills, average to less than average fetching, not a great open field tackler. His long suit is running a lot for very low metres. He rarely breaks a tackle against good teams. Totally overrated.

Shall I remind you - your favourite coach caused a loss against Italy by the Springboks, However, He scored three tries and that is top class in any event irrespective against whichever teams they played against.
By the way he runs a lot for very little meter gains, Your hero ran a few times in games for less territory gain. That make a huge difference.

Gilroy was only on the field for 14 minutes and got a hatrick. Stander is good but he's not the all shaker, game breaker, widow maker ppl like to make him out to be.

I did not say anywhere that Stander is "the all shaker, game-breaker, Widow maker" - attributes assigned to the useless Alberts by so many suckers.
Stan der is a rugby-playing loosie and a better one ta that than any loosies the Springboks have fielded over the last 5 years. The only one who came near to him was Vermeulen and he has also gone sour over the last year.

Vermeulen shows against the great teams....Stander is great against the show teams. He is a bog ordinary stampkar no 7 who only knows how to take contact. Offload, what's that?
Never in a 100 years could Stampkar have come up with the offload Vermeulen produced for F du Preez to get us into the WC semi.

It has been a long time since our loosies scored tries out on the wing. We used to have Joe van Niekerk, Teichman, Skinstad, Andre Venter . Nowadays our loosies lack the pace or skills to play outside.

Our loosies with the possible exception of Vermeulen have ben totally hopeless over the past five years. Not one of them would have made the Italian team - leave alone any team of the top 6.
We have lost the concept completely. I watched the game today and saw that whenever a player was tackled there would be at least three players protecting the ball = mostly the loosies. SA loosies would not get to the breakdown points - leasve alone do ball protection and recovery = they are too pace=deficient to do that.
Loosies = or the lack of those players = represent the weakest link in the Springbok team.

Stampkar was played off his feet by the Scots, he could hardly raise a trot by the end of the game....which is probably why he coughed up the ball in the crucial last 5 minutes......24 carries, one miserable tackle beaten.

Ou Maaik, I don't think it's "some" people who think CJ Stander is useless, I'm only aware of one rugby noob who thinks he's useless . . . but then again, that one person is the same doddering old fool who thinks Pieter-Steph is rubbish and all the Lions are barely provincial players . . . so take it from whence it comes.

One question for ou rooitwitterbug. How long before you cease being a noob.In rooitwits case its never. bwahahhahahahaOu maaaaikie I don't watch NH rugby so cant comment re Stander. To me you need a big powerful mobile intelligent tight five. You then pick a power loose forward like a Vermuelen. Then I want real pace around the park in the other two plus as much power as possible. All your pack must be savvy and have skills. All forwards must be warriors. Now this is actually not a big ask really. What appears to be the big ask is getting some brains into the equation and the adoption of merit selections. Besides quotas SA rugby lacks brain power. The best coaches are sidelined and we have half bakes like Coetzee - we also have half baked fans like ou rooiwtit!
The only side remotely getting it right are the Lions with their limited budget. I doff my hat to Ackers and his staff. Oh that the Bulls, Stormers and Sharks, our major Unions would get their act together. I also wish that some how the Cheetahs who often play great rugby would find a mechanism to stop having their players poached. We also have to stop the player drain and eliminate racist picks in management and players. Reduce the number of unions, have central contracting etc.
SA rugby is in a mess.

"One question for ou rooitwitterbug. How long before you cease being a noob?"
Baboon-ou, it's not really a period of time, it's more about when the person stops making statements or asking questions that make it obvious he or she has only recently starting watching the game . . . like Moffie's rating of players or like you saying anything about refs . . . or the All Blacks . . . or the Hapless Stompies . . . in fact, pretty much everything you say about rugby.
Did that help?

I for one do not think you can rate any players class on this one game, especially if the team is the weakest in the competition.
The true picture will emerge at the end of the Six Nations competition and the selection of the Lions team.
Muck like playing against the Kings and scoring a try in my opinion.
But Stander did a great deal of work in this game, to be honest.
I do believe that he would have made the Bok team if he was still eligible.
Pity.

Very funny coming from Urinal who rated Deysel above Juan Smith and Luke the Puke Watson above Schalk. Who thought our hopes of winning the WC evaporated when Pierre Spies developed his mysterious illness. And was convinced Pretorius was a great flyhalf. I kid you not.
.......
Stander is a typical South African 7.....crash balls endlessly. They seem to love him in Ulster though. i'm expecting the Poms and Welsh will totally neutralize him as Scotland did. His fetching skills are marginal, he trots after the play so he is rarely in position to open field tackle and does this man ever pass? I can't recall seeing that ever. Stampkar by name, Stampkar by nature.....lineouts are the only diversification to his game.
..........
As for Stephanie all that remains with me of his 2016 season was him buying exactly the same dummy twice against the Poms. Not strong enough for the tight stuff and not agile enough for open field play. Time for Willemse to come back to lock with Etzebeth.

CJ is a great player...if you watched the Italy/Ireland game the scores are misleading...Italy's defense was good, Ireland was just brilliant and got EVERY opportunity right...Ireland are on par with NZ right now and I put them to defeat England in the 6 nations. Italian rugby will improve and will become notable opposition and contestants in the future...the scores on this game are misleading.

Yeah. Mozart...as they are playing now they can beat any side...thanks to NZ coach , Vern Cotter...I wish SA could entice him to coach the Boks...Scotland has never beaten NZ but their time will come, just like Irelands in Chicago but I'm gunning for Scotland to topple England...just like we toppled King Edwards army in days past.
