So Dave....about Faf du Plessis

I was just wondering if you had changed your views on Faf, you know, about not being test class.

I have to admit, I knew he was always a fighter, but the flair he has been showing lately is fantastic.
Some people thrive when taking leadership. He seems to be one of them.

I'm worried about my old fave Amla. Something isn't clicking. I hear that he experiments a lot with trigger movements etc...
Maybe thats the problem?
People always say, when struggling for form, go back and look at old videos of when you were at your best.
Amla needs to take heed.

What are your thoughts on Dwaine? He oozes potential as a hard hitting, consistent number 7 and a good quality 3rd seamer.
Just a pity he is white. He and Ph ehlekwayo will be vying for 1 spot.

Chip I only see these guys on my Indian cricket channel when they play regularly at international level. So I have no basis to judge.

 Faf rules. His head is right. Should have been given the test captaincy when it was forced on Amla. Faf seems to be thriving when given responsibility...should be ODI skip too. Let AB bat and enjoy himself. 

I must admit that Faf du Plessis has astounded me with his current form.
Amla is a burden to the team in his current form.....perhaps a spell out of the game for a few months is need.

Apart from his batting some of the catches Faf has pulled off recently are among the best I have seen.

Is Dave still visiting this site? Haven't seen anything from him in quite a while. Faf has certainly come good this season. Amla the opposite, he has been out of form, but it just goes to show how good those around him have been playing . The Proteas are still able to produce consistently good batting performances, without one of their main batsmen making meaningful contributions. For me it is touch and go for Amla, at his age, this slump may be his last as a Protea. There is no need for transformation inclusions in the team anymore, because those numbers are pretty solid, so at this point inclusion should be based on performance alone...and he is not performing.  

 Well Amla has done a good job of anchoring today...not? With his track record he will be given more time to get back in form...fairly so too.

 Berhardien seems to be settling down too.
