Moved to London in 2010, when things were supposedly really bad and didn't have too much trouble then (had to settle for contract work to begin with like) and things only picked up from there, they are a little bit shy if you have no UK experience to begin with but that is to be expected. All comes down to your line of work I suspect, certainly and I mean like 50 times more work and there was in NZ at the time (esp with the Olympics coming to town) and a hell of alot more variety, It really has been the best few years of my life.
