It appears that he was forced to replace Willie with Fassi as the team was too white

Not sure how true this is but if fucking SA rugby did make that call they should be ashamed [search: jewish dogging near me] of themselves

Imagind what that did for team morale before that game

There is a strong chance that it’s true….I mentioned in the team announcement thread, that this team and bench are a bit on the pale side.

Where did you find the info?

Sa Rugby is under instructions, just like Erasmus, from this inhumane, corrupt to the Core, Black Government.

It wouldn’t surprise me in the least….

Not sure whether that is not a story posted by someone wihout lnks to the team itself. In any event Fassi as a bad flop at full back and Willemse had a minor problem and cold not replace Willie that would have been the preferred choice, Rassie claimed that Willie had a niggle as well. So that could be cecked out if anybody knows someone inside the team.

What came out clearly was that Erasmus was not amused by the team performance and he apparently gave some of the players a deserved tongue-lashing. Moodie was a flop as well and so was Esterhuizen as replacement loosie, So I do believe the team selection by Rassie contributed too the poor performances by some players,

We wil have to see what happened to the touring squad to New Zealand leaving soon. The loosies were so horrible I would not be surprised if Roos is called up to join the squad.

A article in The South African says it was stick in the coaches seat.

Comments from Black supporters on X is quite bad in the sense that they indirectly blame Erasmus of racism.

Just like I mentioned, they are all ripping into Erasmus because the team was to "White"

They Also saying that Rassie deliberately put Stick in the team pic instead of himself, as to off set the "Whiteness" of a predominantly White Bok Team.

Thsituka and Asetnathi would have been a better pic, to appease the Racial Vultures.

The Country is absolutely in it’s Fuck You, with normal service delivery in some Parts, totally absent.

But still they want to make a issue about this?? Talk about ignorance, absolute audacity and unnecessary sensitivity!

Gayton’s unpatriotic Springboks tweet: Was minister an All Blacks supporter?

More of Gayton McKenzie’s old tweets have resurfaced, in which he pledged his support to the All Blacks and NOT the Springboks.

A decade-old tweet from Gayton McKenzie condemning the Springboks has elicited outrage from South Africans. According to many social media users, the Minister of Sport was once a staunch All Blacks supporter.

Like many members of the coloured and black community, they chose to back the New Zealand rugby team, whose players experienced similar struggles to Apartheid’s racial discrimination.

WAS GAYTON MCKENZIE AN ALL BLACKS SUPPORTER?

On Saturday, 23 August, an old tweet by Gayton McKenzie regarding the Springboks resurfaced.

Originally posted in 2015, the now Minister of Sport – using the X [formerly Twitter] handle @G_xcon – posted: “May the Springboks be beaten today!”

Then switching to his @GaytonMck handle, the politician added: “They should come home”.

Gayton was referring to the Springboks playing at the 2015 Rugby World Cup. Despite wanting them to lose, the Boks beat Samoa 46 – 6.

According to many social media users, Gayton McKenzie was once a staunch All Blacks supporter.

A since-deleted tweet from his account in 2015 read: “I love rugby, I however love my people more. I cannot support the Springboks at RWC 2015. I will be supporting the All Blacks”.

However, the Patriotic Alliance leader still has a post from that year that reads, “All Blacks moering two blacks,” referring to New Zealand’s 20–18 World Cup game defeat over South Africa.

Fast forward to 2024, and being sworn in as Minister of Sport, Gayton claimed that he was “happy and proud” to see the tides turn after the All Blacks landed in South Africa for a test series.

He tweeted: “A lot of us used to scream for the All Blacks, particularly in the Western Cape. Today I saw all my friends donning Springboks jerseys. Times have really changed under Rassie [Erasmus]. We saw very few All Black shirts today”

EXPLAINER: WHY MANY SOUTH AFRICANS SUPPORT NEW ZEALAND RUGBY

Apart from New Zealand itself, the All Blacks have the second-biggest fanbase in South Africa. The Western Cape, which has a large population of coloured people, has much to do with that support.

The link between SA and the All Blacks has much to do with our country’s deep-rooted history and connection to New Zealand, particularly during the Apartheid regime.

Before the inception of democracy, non-white rugby players were banned from playing in the national rugby squad, known as the Springboks.

Coloured and black players had their own federations, which were ultimately dictated to by the South African Rugby Board [SARB] and reserved for white players. This resulted in much resentment, particularly from coloured rugby fans and players, towards the Springboks, who abided by racist sporting policies.

To add insult to injury, SARB forbade New Zealand natives – known as M?oris, and also classified as “people of colour” – from visiting or playing against SA. According to reports, this demand was supported or, at the very least, accepted by New Zealand authorities, including the New Zealand Rugby Union [NZRU].

The racial tensions saw an explosive turn of events in the late 60s when the New Zealand protest group Halt All Racist Tours proposed the boycott of games and tours in South Africa.

During this period, non-white South Africans stood in alignment with New Zealand’s All Blacks, who also felt the ripple effect of Apartheid’s discrimination and segregation.

After a sporting boycott was lifted following the democratic elections, South Africa and New Zealand played each other in the 1995 World Cup finale, which South Africa won.

The match – attended by the late Nelson Mandela – saw the first democratic president of SA encourage the nation to reconcile and support the Springboks.

However, many South Africans have chosen to remain loyal to the All Blacks.

DO YOU THINK GAYTON MCKENZIE’S SUPPORT OF THE ALL BLACKS IS JUSTIFIED?

The Springboks will take a 36-man squad on tour next week for tests in Auckland and Wellington which remained pivotal in the Boks’ hopes.

“It was far from a perfect performance but sometimes just getting back on the horse is the most important thing,” said Erasmus of the 30-22 victory.

“After a loss you lose a little bit of belief, even though we had won eight on the trot and nine out of ten, but you do lose a little bit of belief, so the big thing for us was to try and win and not let them get a bonus point.

“We didn’t take all our opportunities, but we got eight points more than them so that’s satisfying.

“But we always had to go to New Zealand, and beat them twice, if we want to have any chance – so nothing’s changed.”

Erasmus admitted that the Springboks were more at home in matches of a less free-running nature: “We played a more balanced game this week. I don’t think we created 50 percent of what we created last weekend but we ground the game out, when we thought it was going to be a grind.

“We are trying to please our crowds by winning and playing a better brand and sometimes we get it wrong like we did last weekend, but sometimes when we get into game likes this where it’s a real grind we tend to find a way.

“We tend to struggle when it’s an open, free-running game – it’s beautiful rugby but you lose on the scoreboard. Overall, we’ll learn from this and hopefully the tighter the matches get, we’ll get more comfortable with it as we have been in the past.”

The Springboks are next in action against New Zealand at Eden Park in Auckland on 6 September.

I think hee team selection wa in some respects shit supreme. Te start off with the loosies - w ahve thee loosies whose main speciality was giving away penalties and lose ball possession at breakdowns they are supposed to protect or to try and overturn and then bring on a failed center to replace one of them is another joke - Esterhuizen did zero when replacing thee ultra-useless Mostert - the latter being a bad joke a well/

As to the full back there is a very real problem in the squad. Le Roux promised to give Wille a chance to get 100 test cap in tests - but in tests this year Willie was a bad joke of very little value to the team, In the meantime Fassie was bad to worse after his injury. He was a horrible failure in the UDC and in tests this year. Sorry about that - but eh needs councelling after that injury stoping him from becoming a jelly fish, Even Gelant would have been a better choice than Fassi is at present - but the real deal should have ben Green, So the Springbok ull back issue si still a major problem.

But - there is another issue as well and that relates to Williams and Pollard. Williams ws not the player he was lat ear as well. Hi constant and mostly por kicks were a means of possesion handover more than anthing else. Papie would have been better than him anyway, Pollard wa a replica of Morne Steyn this tests,- at least compared by his out of hand kicking, OK he converted and the one kick caused a try being scored - but fo te rest his kicing was aimless and produced soe very poor results in counter-attackig by the Wallabies, After Sacha had some excellent matches for the Springboks he was not very good in a test he played in and one wonder why that happened, Libbok was a joke in bad taste against the Wallabies in the first test - he was obviously a candidate for replacement - but why not b the mch better Sacha? My own opinion is that Pollard has lost a lot of pace over he past year and he has never even tried to start a backline attack in the match on Satiurday - he just kicked and kicked th ball all he time.

My own opinion is that f a player start ailing when ove the age of 30 such a playe should be replaced and not be in the squad at all. Esterhuizen did well and so did De Jager - while Mostert was a joke and I do not like Reinach and De Klerk as being the right choice at scrummie, Willie should never be in the squad anymore - he failed in evry match he played in this year being both on URC and test level. A Springbok Great he diefinitely si - but he s oing fast to become a joke in bad taste like Matfield was in 2015.

I think Erasmus atttude being ver-loyal to some players are admirable - but he should e careful not to deteriorate in that regard by being too loyal to some players who do not produce the goods anymore lettiing the team down. I must admit that Erasmus is a top class coach - but he must be careful when it comes to player loyalty and refrain from picking players purely based on reputation and not on actual performance,
