So there......

nothing's changed, an ordinary Bulls outfit outmuscled and outplayed by a touch better than average Brumbies. The difference was that the Brumbies were prepared to play rugby while the Bulls were left trying to find a gear....a gear that slipped with every tick of the clock. When they finally had the chance to carry the Pill they kicked it away,which prompted the commentator to say they've only had 20% possession so far.....Tonite we've seen it all, kicks going out on the full, 2 tightheads, outrucked, outmuscled, Brumbies prepared to run the ball at every opportunity, there better skilled players better than the Bulls better skilled, turnovers at the lineouts and ill discipline from the Bulls, n ot to mention the missed tackle by Serfontein....this from a Bok centre. I'm glad I didn't have my hopes up.

Definite reminder that strength of opponent matters, a lot. Force game last week provided many false positives.

Poor performance by the Bulls. Did not seem very professional by them. I did not understand all the referee decisions- but either way the Bulls were going to lose.

The Bools much lauded offloading game against the Force predictably disappeared today. The reason is obvious the Force gave the Bools oodles of space leading to ooh ahing from the Board's silliest posters....you know who they are. Today, much as the Canes did to the Lions...the Brumbies cut off that space with good line speed.
The result a bumbling display with passes being spilled and balls being turned.

And then the defence of our Bok centers. Stepfontein misses Ah Wong for the first try. Kriel misses Cubelli setting up the ruck from which Cubelli scored. How many tackles did Kriel miss today...he was dominated in the backline move after Schoeman's direct kick to touch. Every time Kuridrani got the ball it seemed both Kriel and Step were required to stop him, but not before he made 5 metres and got the Brumbies going forward.

Van Der Merwe appeared to put Sio under some pressure, which surprised me. But he always ended up vertical at the end of the scrums...his old problem. Check out the scrum on the Brumbies line, the second one we lost against the put in. No hooker can hook properly when his tighthead is popping up out the scrum.
The only Bools player who impressed me was Snyman, even though he was bounced badly by Butler on one occasion. He was constantly involved though and took a couple of balls on opposition throw.

 Within a space of a week our two premier sides have been given a rugby lesson and no-one player from either side looking  Bok metal....not Bok hopefuls, Bok metal. Forget the Sharks, the Lions and the Bulls are our premier flag bearing sides but what is plain to see are two teams a couple of  shIts better than the Kings.
