You stated that the Sharks deserved to beat the Lions, how do you figure? The Lions outgained the Guppies by 100 metres and scored one more try. They had 66% of possession and territory. They made 8 clean breaks to 2....and beat 6 more defenders. How do you figure? .. But I'm also wondering if you can support the Lions on Saturday being Turncoat and all. I mean Jantjies will be playing and you were pining for Maakniks. Can you get over it and support your team? Or will your Turncoat tendencies emerge if the Lions lose, expanding on your criticism of Ackerman for not planning the flyhalf position properly. .. As for Jantjies I'm afraid that your theory that his poor general play impacted his kicking doesn't hold water. Before Jantjies missed his first kick from virtually dead in front he made some nice late offloads....nothing wrong, except perhaps a pass too hot for Kleintjie to pull in. After that missed kick it wasn't more than a few minutes before Jantjies threw a shocking pass directly to Am leading to the Shark's first try.....cause and effect. And as his goal kicking continued to stutter his confidence imploded. So what's your evidence that his poor general play started the downward spiral....be specific.

Here is the relevant post for your convenience: .. 'We don't really have a choice but to play him. Coach Ackerman has been a little short sighted in his selections at 10. It's not as though anyone else has been given sufficient game time to stake a claim for the Lions 10 jersey. Jantjies is a constant in the team. Come rain or shine ... Jantjies is there ... no matter his mental state or run of form. No proper thought was put in as a possible replacement. Who would replace him if he were to suffer a long term injury ... or a loss of form ... and how would that effect our expansive game style? Where is Marnitz Boshoff? Why haven't the Lions brought in someone to pressure Jantjies for his jersey? Does he fill their quota requirements? Is that it? This has come back to bite us on the ass.'

I also posted much the same thing on another thread, but the Lions do deserve to be in the semi's. Yes they had a bad game on Saturday, but very few here can argue that they, based on their performances the the whole season, deserve to be there. On Jantjies, it is what it is. He is an up and down player, but he has been more consistent this season than ever before, so hopefully his bad performance on Saturday was just an off day. That said, CC is 100% on the money regarding the Lions not having had the foresight to bring in a legitimate replacement for him should one be needed .

Wow ... you sure can sulk. I knew you were prone to pouting ... but not quite like this.

How old are you? 3? Grow up,Tottie!!

I must say though, it suits your pompous tone. The puffed up haughty, with their conceited nose in the air strutt, usually sulk when they don't get their way. It's accompanied by red faced, throbbing neck arteries and thrashing feet.

I'm surprised to see you haven't directed any profanity at me this time round.

I've told you before ... weren't you listening? ... clean your ears out next time ... stats don't tell the full story ... they never have ... they never will. Only the ignorant look at them as fact. Only the ignorant use them when they have nothing else. Some even twist them a tad. Much like you, hey Chip?

The Lions were favoured by the ref. It's as simply as that. Some absurd calls took the match away from the Sharks. I'm not going to sing my team's praises and celebrate their win when it was clear for all to see that they didn't deserve it.

I'm not a Kiwi.

Of course I'll be supporting my team. I've been a Lions fan all my life. Unlike you, I don't hide my head in the sand and pretend all's good with the world. We have issues in the Lions camp that should have been addressed ages ago ... why would I pretend otherwise?

Jantjies ran onto the field filled with disbelief. He spoke himself into that negative state before the starting whistle even sounded. It was not something he developed on the pitch. He is a confidence player. He needs someone to hold his hand and whisper reassurance into his ear ... words of comfort ... he needs to be convinced of his ability ... especially when much is at stake ... and when he doesn't get it? ... well we all saw what happened on Saturday.

In his mind everything that went wrong on Saturday was merely a confirmation of what he had told himself prior to the match. Ackerman saw it and acted accordingly.

Happy now ... or is there something else I can help you with, Chip?

That's just it, BlueBok ... the competition runs right through to the final whsitle in the last match ... and one slip up could cost you the entire season's hard work.

It has nothing to do with deserving this or that. It's all about keeping your focus. ... getting to the last whistle ... ahead on the scoreboard.

Yes ... we are the best team in the country currently ... and yes we stand a better chance against the Kiwis than the Sharks ... as they would have to travel ... and we don't.

Still doesn't remove the bad taste I have in my mouth though.

Yeah yeah ... the Goats are not for me ... I haven't cheered for them since Jake was sacked. Can't see that changing anyd ay soon either.

As for the Stompies. Who in his right mind would support that pathetic exscuse of a team. Too many midgets ... too many pretenders ... too many sub standard players ... with a third rate coach as the cherry on top ...

CleanCut is very comfortable with the path he's taken. He thinks he'll continue with it ...

Lots of protestations, but the man remains a Turncoat.....before the match he really believes his team is going to lose. If they do everybody is fair game.....even the coach who got them there when everybody thought all was lost. Less than a fair weather fan, he is the anti fan......the man who can never be relied on. He is Turncoat.

Cloudy, you've noticed I call him "Klown"?
That is actually a combination of two separate nicknames I've given him over the years . . . Clown Cut and KKK (Klean Kut K***)
I'd actually rather someone openly racist like Klown than a closet racist who says the right things on a public forum but then in private says things like he left South Africa because of the stinking ka** irs and he hoped they all get exterminated by AIDS.

The only racists in this country are the white folk. Didn't you know?

It's not racist if you implement Black Empowerment policies in the work place.

Affirmative Action isn't racist ... neither is quotas in sport ... just as long as it's introduced by the black man. That kind of racism is acceptable ... and it gets two thumbs up from guys like Redneck.

You just have to look at his team selections to see it. Notshe? A Bok?

If we have a team of mostly white players, it's racist. It doesn't matter that they were selected on merit ... the coach and his management team are all racist because they try to limit the amount of handouts. Incompetence and mediocrity is the order of the day. It's fashionable. It's the white mans fault that there aren't many skilled blacks out there. We're to blame ... cause we're racist.

We have loudmouths like Redneck favouring the black man over his own. Any hint of a racist slurr directed at the poor black man and his ire is provoked. Then we see how quickly he joins in ... only to go on and on and on ... about how unacceptable it is to be a racist white man.

Funny though, I've never seen him display the same passion when it comes to the racist black folk in this country. I've never seen him go on and on and on quite like he does with white racism. Talk about double standards.

Being politically correct is important to him. He wants to be part of the fashionable trend. I've grown accustomed to it. He is the way he is ... and I can't see him changing it anyday soon. It makes him happy. He's part of their struggle.

Well ... not me. I don't favour racist behaviour at all ... what I will stand firm on though is the support of my people against this so called "acceptable racism" ... I will definitely not bend the knee to them like Redneck has ... and if that qualifies me as a racist then so be it. I am not ashamed of it. Why should I be? I am proud of my race.

Being politically correct isn't as important to me as it is to Redneck ... and his sort.

I'm quite happy with the way I see things ... and I too won't be changing it any day soon.

BlobbieGoat ... I see you're still sulking. LOL!!!

The Lions are in the semis ...again. How is your midget team of quotas doing? Oh well ... I guess there's always next year to look forward to.

Thank you, Beandip!!

Wee cc doesn't like race based selections and neither do I.

This one caught my attention, but in general, it is the actual topic at hand that got me asking my question.

If CC and Beeno do not like race based selections, that cannot make them racist, not for a second.

For some people, they might term that as being racist, but that would be both stupid and irrelevant, given their individual  beliefs on this issue.

Damn boys. Take it easy. You see, the truth of the matter is this, nobody on here is ever really going to tell you their honest views on race. But I will say this, it is in human nature for people to want to associate with their own kind. Damn, the English and Afrikaans whites in South Africa can barely get along. Look at the tension along tribal lines in the South African black population. It is the same the world over. No matter where you look in the world, population groups, will stay in areas which are predominantly the same population group. Even when it is out of choice. My point, people don't like others that are different, be it race, language, religion. It is just the way it is.
I see no point in getting into an argument about race, because you will probably never hear the truth. Especially given the massive uproar about "mistakes" by people like Penny Sparrow.
I reckon it is just best to leave this argument be.
My two cents.
