Steph missed 31 tackles this season. Mostert missed 21.
Steph made 172 tackles, Mostert 139.
Steph had scores of instances where he was cleanly beaten. These don't show up in the stats. Considering that Rassie used him as the rusher around the fringes, of course his numbers would be high, but is he accurate enough is the question. He had the highest missed tackle count of all our forwards. Those misses which stats don't account for compound the problem further.
Even Mozart gave up on it - realizing it is futile to make that kind of calculation - since it is not comparable - but you persist with BS. When will you ever learn!!!!!!!
I'm more interested in evaluating his role and his ability to fulfill that role. It had good returns I some games, bad returns in others. Is he a better lock or flank? Is he replaceable? The only way we'd find out is if Rassie trialled Mostert at 7 and Snyman at 5.
Either way, the numbers are significant. The video review doesn't explain them away either.
Haha, what a lot of hoo-ha over what amounts to a less than 1 tackle per game difference. Virtually insignificant.

I just made the point that one has to be careful to make sure that comparable circumstances to be used when making calculations are made, I would always encourage the sue of comparable stats when dealing with issues.

Nice sentiment Mike, but you have to stop this thing you have going of leading into a discussion with accusations against other posters. It immediately turns what should be a discussion into tedious defensive sparring. Adds absolutely nothing to the board in terms of quality.
