Frans was the worst player on the field, with Reinach following. Coetzee and PSDT were everywhere...
Du Toit held up his side of the scrum against the awesome Koch, it was Stevens who let the Sharks down in the set piece.

They were both ineffective. Steyn wasn't perfect but it was pretty obvious he was fit, aggressive and fully engaged....we need him.
In the scrums Tomas and Koch both cracked on occasion. Personally I think the Koch phenomenon is a bit over hyped. He is useful in the loose though.

Statistics don't take anything into context, PSDT and Coetzee's workrates was more towards the rucks and breakdown.

AS per normal you are a gain talking absolute BS. De Allende played the fool with Francois Steyn. Steyn was shrugged off like a dummy when he tried to tackle De Allende three times and had to get assistance to do so. If their was one position where a player was totally over-shadowed by his opponent it was the case of De Allende over-shadowing Steyn.
Steyn was so poor - he got penalized three times for late or dangerous tackles on the diminutive Kolbe - and ultimately got a yellow card for doing just that. Did you miss all of that? His game was all negative - he was slow, made all kinds of balls-ups like poor passing the few times he got the ball and was in fact one of the most useless Sharks players on the field of play. Those are facts - but then you missed it ebcause you did not want to see it. He was in all respects on par or worse than Pietersen.
What a blinkered stooge you are.

Du Toit had to try and stem the tied - the other Tight 5 players were not up to standard and he had a very lonely battle in that environment - so did Coetzee as a loosie. The one player that did one thing right and for the rest was against totally ineffective in ball protection and recovery - virtually never involved in breakdowns - were Willem Alberts. As per normal his defense was poor and ineffective.
The Sharks made a serious mistake by starting with Alberts ahead of Bothma. The latter is a far better loosie than the slow and lumbering Alberts.

Moronic it all went whoosh over your head again......I guarantee you HM is a happier man after watching that game because all his stalwarts look in good shape...Alberts, Frans, Schalk, Eben. Look for all these players to play major RWC roles in spite of your boring, clueless bleating.

For those who have an interest in real facts vs repetitive bias, here are Alberts stats:
FAlberts0/100/1/38000010/30/000/0
He gets an assist for the Lambie try and makes the most Sharks tackles in spite of an early departure . The bone collector looks fresh and ready for a WC year. We missed him badly on the YE tour.

After a piss poor performance by Steyn and a very, very average one by Alberts and very little being done by Burger - because he was on the field of play for a very short time - Meyer would only be happy if he is as idiotic as you are.
By the way - you still don't get it idiotic one - ball protection and recovery is an integral part of the functions of a loosie and Alberts still scored near to zero on that one.
If you are talking about a star loose forward at 7 - look no further than Labuschagne:-
Labuschagne0/000/3/949110113/00/010/0
His stats make Alberts ones look like a joke in bad taste. But you are obviously too idiotic to make a proper assessment of player performances.

Physically Steyn brought his weight down from 118 kgs last year to 106 kgs - which was a vast improvement.
However, playing rugby in Japan does not add value to player performances. Despite his much more reasonable physical condition - he still lacks pace (hence his late tackles on players) and he showed no signs of improved ball play and reading of the game.
Maybe he would look better in performance as the series goes on and he meets up with weaker opposition - but against De Allende he was utterly hopeless and ineffective.

Oumaaik please note that I made no mention of his performance, merely his appearance. For the record he made one late tackle for which he was carded, the first was penalized for being reckless & the second questionable tackle was deemed ok .

If Steyn showed ANYTHING positive yesterday I would have commented on it - but there was zilch, zero, nothing - yet Mozart wrote his normal BS about him. He ran off to quote stats that he believes supported his arguments and idiot is great on one-incident issues.
It was probable that the arguments Steyn had with the ref that was a major issue before he got yellow-carded and then when the crowd boo-ed him after the yellow-card hoe showed his contempt for them by clapping as he walked off. That again ahead showed his contempt for the authorities and the people who support rugby and keep it alive as a sport. The most ego-centric player I have seen for years.
The idiotic Mozart praised him to high heaven, but he was seriously sub-standard.

My advice to Gary Gold. Work towards getting this pack on the park:Beast, Bissie, Jannie, Steph, Alberts, Coetzee, Kan Kan and Deysel.
Reinach needs to up his workrate - compare hsi workrate to Faf de Klerk! Lambie is going fine and egg is landing on his critics.(Alucard must be spluttering with each line break and Dr Moz wondering about his comments re Lambie?)
Leave Frans and JP put for another couple of matches and see what happens.
Sharks scrumming problems are temporary. Need a decent lock to partner the impressive Steph Du Toit and Alberts fits the bill. Coetzee, Deysel and Kan Kan make a very nice loose trio.
Sharks problems can be sorted. They should also have beaten the bulle. We would not have earned all these scrum penalties and tightheads if Beast and Jannie had played.
Where is that guy Oosthuisen who impressed last season and the pacy Lewies who could also pla y 7?

Ego- wise Steyn is quite calm compared to NH and Australian players but he's definitely the most egotistical South African. I saw the game, Frans did nothing.

Statistically Fransie handled the ball 12 times. He kicked the ball twice, passed the ball 4 times and carried it 6 times for a territory gain of all of 7 meters. In other words he was useless and more than useless.
I have to laugh about Mozart's assessment of Steyn's performance. I participate in a competition in New Zealand insofar as player selection is concerned and am at this stage in 10th position out of a total of over 10 000 participants.
This week - as you must appreciate S-B Williams was poor - so lets look at the point allocations for performance in respect of the centers:-
Damian de Allende = 42 pointsS-B Williams = 8 points Francois Steyn = -8 points
Yet the idiot implies that Steyn was on par with De Allende and he wants us to believe it. Must be delusional to even write that jargon on the site. Incidentally the Foxsport sites final allocation is not made yet - but I will lay a bet the point allocation for Steyn would also be negative.

Matfields performance last weekend was overrate beyond belief, he was much better yesterday but I still wouldn't have him in my Bok squad. I'd much rather have Etzebeth, PSDT, Flip, Botha and Mostert.

I believe that in dealing with the performances of players you have to bear in mind the opposition. Unlike the media hype last week, Du Toit comprehensively overshadowed Matfield in the game and it is statistically proven as well. In the game yesterday - Du Toit had to fight a lone battle in the Tight 5 game - the other 4 players were just not up to standard.
My real problem with Matfield is he is physically not up to the required standard and his contribution to Tight 5 play is non-existent. We cannot go into the WC with a Tight 4 combination and a defective 5th player.

You have been asked how you arrive at this, before, but for some reason you have always ducked the question. Kindly explain how you judge his physicality in "the tight 5". Please do not come up with his "weak tackle" BS again. Explain how "he is physically not up to the required
standard and his contribution to Tight 5 play is non-existent".

Well one thing that has to be clear even to Moronic is the Sharks need Jannie, just as the Bools need Victor and the Stormers need Vermeulen. For the Sharks Jannie is indispensable a National treasure.
08 Mar 2015, 18:12#26
Rucks, mauls and scrums. He isn't strong enough to be competing with other locks to justify his selection, take for example when he's cleaning rucks out, he often doesn't clean opposition out in the first go.

Jannie is obviously better than fat Stevens - but when he played against the Cheetahs - he was scrummed into the ground by a virtually unknown Mienie - so how much better will he be in future?
Jannie is not a national treasure anymore - far from it - he is a hasbeen that needs to up his game or retire. He would have been scrummed into the ground by either Koch or Malherbe - especially the latter who picks up numbers of penalties from any opposition when he comes on.
The Bulls do not need Victor - they could have done much better with Willemse in the Tight 5 - Victor is the reason for the Bulls poor performances previously - he is absolutely useless and physically-deficient when it comes to Tight 5 play.
But your praise-singing was not about the missing Jannie - it was about the theory that Meyer would be delighted to see Frans Steyn and Alberts back. Still no realization that De Allende made Fransie look like an absolute fool and Alberts still is clueless about breakdown ball protection and recovery.

What rubbish PSDT was by far the best lock on the field. The Sharks scrum was always going to take a beating with useless Stevens at 3.
Lambie was very good as was de Allende. de Allende is a must for the Boks at 13 outside Serfontein who had a great game for the Bulls.
Agreed on Kitshoff but then again he always had it.

Stef best based on what, getting stripped by scrummies, getting beaten in crucial lineouts, missing tackles. A huge bunch of hype.....and how much was he adding to the Sharks scrum? Not much apparently....initial shove belongs to the props, but the locks play a big role in the second shove. The Sharks had nothing.

There is no way that you can argue that Matfield brings anything at all to the scrums - but the expected attack by you is all about Du Toit. Now suddenly you blame Du Toit for the poor scrumming of the Sharks yesterday - but in the case of the Bulls poor scrumming the blame all goes onto the props - not the locks.
The Sharks have Jannie - who nowadays cannot even face up to unknown props like Mienie of the Cheetahs and two of the other props (Adriaanse and Chadwick) should play club rugby while Stevens should never ever have been contracted. The Sharks has absolutely useless scrumming props - but that is not the problem - the problem is Du Toit. Your zero knowledge of forward play is shown up clearly.
Since the item was started by you on how delighted Meyer would be with the return of Alberts and Francois Steyn - those two players have gone off the screen and now suddenly the blame game is on Du Toit. No further comments on the deficient game routinely played by Alberts all the time and the atrocious performance of Steyn yesterday?
