Just read that ABSA have not renewed their sponsorship of the Currie Cup and Springboks.
Any suggestions of who should step up and sponsor the two.

I bet you Castle will be back.
Otherwise, there will be 10's of them lining up.
The Boks are one of the most marketable sporting products in the world!
Investec?
Sasol?
FNB?? Massive interest in rugby!

I'm sure there will be no lack of interest.

Havent read the article, but do they indicate why ABSA pulled out? Besides the fact that they are a shit bank!

The article states that ABSA did not renew the contract.
If I recall Sasol pulled out a number of years ago.....so not sure that they would spend that type of money in the current market.
But who knows....

I saw the article and it was implied that the slow rate of transformation was the cause. Although maybe Absa does not have the money.

That's it, gonna close my ABSA accounts ASAP. They could just have opted out of the sponsor, fine, but putting a transformation spin on it...fck them!

PS, Malema's lot are apparently going to target Bok sponsors with boikots. Go SAB, let us see the masses go without Black Label and Castle for a bit. Expect papsak sales to skyrocket!

Forget about Sasol. Due to the low oil price, they are fighting for survival. Heard that there are massive retrenchments taking place.

..see a second sponsor in as many days, BMW has also abandoned the Boks...so the big question is ...what are Big Maori Women doing sponsoring the Springboks in the first place?
