I read in timesonline that Jannie du Plessis may still not play on Saturday and that De Villiers is a doubtful starter as well.    I think that ultimately they may have to put Malherbe on the bench - but that is still a guess.   Cilliers is hopeless and Greyling worse - and that is the end of the story.

The replacement of De Villiers by De Jongh would be a further disaster.   De Villiers thus far during the past tests - bar one - was useless at 13 - but De Jongh will be even worse.   The latter may be a reasonable defender - but absolutely useless in attacking backline play.   I would say he is worse than De Villiers by a proverbial mile.

Mind you - according to a media report attributed to Meyer - the only game plan for Saturday is defence - no attacking play at all.   I see a disater coming and a very bad one at that.   I gave the score elsewhere as 34-6 in favour of the All Blacks - could even be worse.

By the way the All Blacks is according to the bookmakers 1/8 favourites to win on Saturday.   The odds that they win by 13+ points is 17/20.   The bookmakers are no fools - so they cover against a loss by 13 or more points - but not even give even money for such an eventuality.

Bad news - really bad news

Mike I would agree the bookies try and be objective as possible - and they have to be to stay in business. But how about your 10% chance re the Boks winning against Oz - wouldnt think the bookies ever had those sort of odds.

Jallopy please read all Mike' s posts at least three times and you will learn a lot about rugby and life.

this is the effect of bad player management and the extended super rugby comp.

Agree muncher and add the direct physical style we play. But player management is poor for sure. They almost did Kitshoff in playing the youngster game after game - as an example

Beeno

The odds on the Wallabies winning was 7/10 and the margin of 7 plus 18/10.   They really did not think the Springboks could win theee too.
