As per normal I was spot on with two forecasts,  namely the -

*   fact that Louw fouled up too much and that he will not be back in the Springbok squad; and

*    Ruan Nel would be a consideration and included in the squad. t

That despite all the BS spread by Mozart.

So what will the most likely Springbok side be for Saturday?

15  Damian Willemse, 14  Sbu Nkosi,  13  Jesse Kriel, 12  Andre Esterhuiuzen, 11  Ahiwe Dyantyi, 10  Handre Pollard, 9   Faf de Klerk, 8  Warren Whiteley, 7   Pieter-Steph du Toit, 6  Siya Kolisi, 5  RG Snyman, 4   Andre Etzebeth, 3  Frans Malherbe, 2  Malcolm Marx, 1  Stephen Kitshoff

16   Bongi Mbonambi, 17  Tendai Mtawarira, 18  Vincent Koch, 19  Franco Mostert, 20  Marco van Staden, 21  Embrose Papier/Ivan van Zyl, 22  Willie le Roux, 23  Ruhan Nel

With the fact that there re already two flyhalfs in the starting squad - and the fact that Willemse will get a starting selection - I am sure that the  bench will not have a specialist flyhalf and the likely selection at 23 will be there to replace Estrhuizen if the latter keeps on missing tackles.

I think that Snyman will start to see how he matches up in the scrumming where the physically weaker Mostert was a bit problematic.

So lets see what the actual team looks like when announced on Thursday. .

As per normal Tokkie was 'spot on with his forecasts' like this embarrassingly self important pile of steaming shyte: 'Now back to the test on Saturday, I do not believe that the Springboks have even a 5% chance of wining the game on Saturday. The reason is that there are too many players in the side in Saturday who will let the team down. There are in the main two problems and those are – * players who are below international standard and at best questionable selections – Mostert. Kolisi, Whiteley and Am; and * players who normally are good enough – but in the recent tests under-performed compared to their normal standard -those inter alia included Marx, Le Roux, Pollard. Faf and even Etzebeth. The remainder of the team consisted of players who more or less performed on an acceptable level – but not really match winners on their own. For the Springboks to show positive signs all the players will have to improve on their recent performances and drastically so. That leaves a team with 11 players who can make the team competitive - where 14 were inadequate in 2012 and 2014, 11 would be incapable of climbing that mountain. So that will not be enough to win the game – but could reduce the damage insofar as the scoreline is concerned, I stated elsewhere that a loss by less than 20 points will mean an improvement on what Coetzee achieved in 2016 and 2017 and a loss by less than 12 points will indicate that the team is developing better than was achieved under Meyer. I stick with those comments and predict a loss of circa 14 points by the Springboks.'

Mostert, Kolisi, Whiteley and Am. Neither of the four were worse than Steph or Damian. I don't see why he could possible single them out.

Mozart

Why don't you comment on a potential Springbok team and start off with an attack on me personally?   Listen idiot - those remarks were based on performances on test level thus far this year before the AB test  and not on the twisted junk you come up with.

To be expected the fool knows too little of rugby to disccuss the situation without the normal twists he added to attack players and the coach,as well as site members.   He lies constantly about performance and is strongly supported by the equally twisted AO.

Their joint pet hates are De Allende and Du Toit - while there were praise for their performance these two "experts" twisted like the snakes they  are to find a way to attack them.

So you two ignorant twits and real fraudsters - what is your proposed team going too look like simpletons?  And don't say I did not warn you about Nel being in the set-up and Louw a goner.  I told you for a while now that Louw is finished and will not be returning to the squad.

I will give you two other names that will be in the squad sooner than you think - Augustus (8) and Simelane (13).  Why should I always throw pearls before you two swine? Maybe it is because that I feel you need drastic help to get out of the hole you keep on digging  for yourself.

FFS, am I blind or something? Am I the only one who noticed that Ou Maaikie posted this...: “That despite all the BS spread by Mozart......” more than an hour BEFORE Moz said this....: ”As per normal Tokkie was 'spot on with his forecasts' like this embarrassingly self important pile of steaming shyte:...”. And then Ou Maaikie has the audacity to say: “.....START off with an attack on me personally?”. Or is it a case of Moz committing the cardinal sin of being the first to retaliate?

Let me comment then Tokkie. Much ado about nothing. Two curious calls, Ruhan Nel the Goat of the Match in the 2017 CC final and Koch an excellent general player, but a tighthead who would never have survived the 3 last scrums against the ABs. I put this down to Rassie's penchant for tinkering....a bit disappointing when Lady Luck and traditional Bok tactics has just given a famous win. By the way I thought you said Esterhozen wasn't going to come back huh Tokkie.

Could all the daft posters criticisng Du Toit and Allende all take a much needed visit to the optician. Listening to your drivel on about these two in post after post is an embarrassment to the board and anybody you knows anything about rugby. Your BS about these two players is absurd.

Thanks

As for Koch he is a very good outside the scrums. What needs to be assessed is how much progress has he made as a scummager. Up North they take the scrum very seriously so there is a chance he has developed.

Ou Maaaikie like your team. Wish Akkers was the reserve hooker. Willie though should perhaps start and give Willemse a 20 to 30 minutes stint. i say perhaps because Willemse from all accounts was very good at 15 yesterday. He always exudes confidence so maybe he can step up without a problem.

Congrats to Rassie as he sifts his players. Looks like a much better Bok squad is developing.

I am at least an honest person and did more to benefit the poor and for people in a year than you did in your whole lifetime.  And I do not lie about player performances based on hatred and prejudice.

The biggest lies ever on this site were your game analysis - I cannot believe how you manage to lie so much about your pet hate players. and about  your favourites.

Anyway - what can you make up about the style of rugby played against the AB's.   There was no "traditional" involved - it was modern rugby played with zest.   If we played the traditional rugby of Meyer it would have been a huge loss.

By the way I am not surprised by Erasmus bringing on board Koch,   Louw was so sub-standard in general play on Saturday  I was not surprised that Erasmus decided to take out insurance.

But, we must yet again hear how much better you are than everyone else while you draw conclusions based on slanted assumptions.

Schalk Brits (Hooker, Unattached),

An un-attached hooker that not even his pub club team in England no longer wants... Yet he is ahead of Ackers.... He will actually be older than what Matfield was by the time the world cup arrives, with the difference being that Matfield was a Springbok great. When Brits was in his prime, he was exposed as not international standard. He can't scrum, and is just not strong enough for test rugby. He looks really scrawny nowadays, so it would be a joke if he was to scrum in a test match.

OK - let me be decent.  We all know why Brits is around - he will not be in any line-up in any game.  I think he is just around to advise some of the forwards about attitude and maybe line-out throw-ins.

As to Nel - no selection should ever be based on performance in one game.   Nel had good performances in all the CC games - especially against the Lions as well.   However since the games are not shown on TV in the USA I accept that you were not aware of what potentially could happen.

In  view of the injury to De Allende and some real weaknesses in Esterhuizen I suspected that Nel could figure in the squad.

To push for a CC level player ahead of another who has played tremendously well all season at test level, because of a grudge only emphasises your lack of maturity. It certainly doesn't help the team win.

We'll see how he fares in future, the chances of him becoming a great Bok centre are rather slim. It's a position we struggle with, we always have.

AO

Esterhuizen had some CC games before he left for Japan and was about as average as any player could be.

I have no grudge against Esterhuizen and never had.  Whether he can perform in tests on the required level remains questionable.  He has been up and down in the tests played and although he twice made two good line breaks in one test - for the rest he was not performing on the level expected from a test player.

I admired De Villiers as a good test center and he always was until his injury in 2014 in the Wales test.  He should never have ret urned to play rugby again.  Same with Fourie after his retirement in 2011.   As to the rest of the centers I agree with you - but part of the problem was Meyer.  His selection of centers at best was chaotic.  By 2014 he had tried out 9 different players at 13 and none was really allowed any time to establish themselves in that position.   Before the WC De Allende and Kriel had only three test games as a center combination.   That is with respect not the way to develop combinations in any team,

The Trooth Fairy

As per normal your contribution resulted from what Mozart wrote in response to the squad as announced.  His response had no real being on the issue being discussed.  It merely was a personal attack on what I wrote about an issue having zero to do with the topic under discussion.

As per normal he used a topic discussion under a completely  different scenario prior to the AB test.   It had nothing to do with the new squad and was in fact a desperate attack trying to discredit me.  He is so dense that he did not realize why the circumstances were different.

Mozart also attacked under another thread about what  I wrote about Nel and in that also was a personal attack.   Sad to say - but his rugby views are so different from reality that the only way he can assert himself on site is personal attacks.

I would never allow him t intimidate me and counter-attacked.  He has driven too many members from this site due to that type of approach - but I give him back exactly what he dishes out.

Anyway - I asked you again - when will we as members get your first real rugby discussion to this site?   I will n ot hold my breath on that though!!!!!

Interesting to see how the squad was selected, but I think Willemse might start at full back this week considering that Willie just a played a full game for wasp, meaning that he had to fly half way around the world and then back to South Africa. So, after the all blacks win, I don't think that he will be in the best condition going into this match.

I wish that Rassie would drop Kolisi, he is neither a good captain or player. He only looks good on attack against weaker teams and not always as effective. I watch some extended highlights of the AB vs SA game and the guy never puts anything in. He looked exhausted around the 40th minute. Simply doesn't have the brains to play 6. 6 is all about positional play and popping up in the right places. That is what made Richie Mcaw so good. Kolisi had several chances to poach the ball but failed, he also got bumped of in the lead up to one of the tries

I think you guys give a Low a hard time, just go watch the last 15 minutes of that game and you will see how he put his body on the line and stop critical plays around the fringes. Kolisi would have simply been bumped off. The guys doesn't like contact.

On Ruhan Nel, he has not done much, but we don't have any quality 13's at the moment. If you look at our team we only have jessica and am that are specialist. We do not somebody that can defend that channel. Am has been really poor and probably should not even be in the team. Lets see how Nel does.

Kingcorn

You are 100% correct in what you wrote.

On the issue of Willemse  Erasmus has a problem.  Willemse is a star in the making and is regarded as a potential World Cup squad member.  For that purpose he needs test experience and a few minutes from the bench will not be the answer.

There are only a maximum of 9 tests left before the WC and the question is when to give Willemse real game time?   I think that he is likely to get game time in the Aussie game and at least one game on the EOYT.

As to Kolisi there is a serious problem.  He really is not an openside flank and his performance is really seriously detrimental to the Springbok team.   I do no think Rassie will be allowed to drop him from the team.

Mozart, I have no idea if Nel will be good at all, but who else should Rassie select to fill the 13 slot. The guy is 27, he has a good big frame on him and stands at 191 and 103kg. But not sure if big centres fits into the modern game.

We have Mapoe as the other option, but he has some mixed results, I watched one game where he got a stinger on his right shoulder and spend 10 minutes protesting that he is hurt which led to him not even trying to tackle and cost at least one try.

30 min later and he is fine, that cost the Lions the crusaders game during the early stages at home.

For me, I also look at the the players mental strength and he simply doesn't have it.

On the other hand I was really impressed with Kolbe, he botched a tackle early on, but that was because of his nerves, but what did afterwards was amazing, how many times did stop some big guys, putting his body on the line. I have seen so many players getting bumped off and never coming back from that.

Just look at how poor the cheetahs are at tackling. Hopefully Kolbe will get another run.

Nope there were many incidents in that game. Look at it....he looked manifestly uncomfortable and unsure and made a multitude of mistakes. And Corn, there are plenty of big centres Odendaal, Vorster and even Venter......all of whom are bog ordinary, as I have pointed out, but probably better prepared to play test rugby. You are more on point when you say Kolbe was a bit of a revelation....a quick minded player. Just like Juan de Jong who is leagues ahead of all these guys as a professional centre.

Wonderful comments here from the guy who punted De Jongh for years as the player to be selected at 13 and now discovered he is not a test level center, but he is better than present candidates?????????

Change me name? Never. However, bearing the title 'Clever' was a bit of a disaster, now wasn't it?

I have no campaign to run du Toit out of the team, though Snyman should push him to the bench in my opinion. I find it funny though, you clearly love the boy, but you don't actually know why. I find it fascinating when plastic fans form such attachments to players yet never understand why they feel so strongly about them. You don't even know how Steph is used and you clearly showed you miss, fabricated or misinterpreted too many incidents to be taken seriously. You denied he had defensive issues in the first 40 minutes, yet I debunk you again. It's all too easy.

Mozart, he determines that Juan went AWOL because he didn't make as many tackles as Lügnerin determines is mandatory. He has done this a number of times. Why would the opposition run into the strongest part of the defence? Juan is very dangerous on defence, and has such great reading off the game that he routinely catches attackers well behind the gain line. An edge defender like that is priceless. He was never quite a Fourie, but he was the closest by far. I believe we would have been in a Worldcup final had we fielded Juan and Serfontein instead of the ill-fated duo the plastics gushed over.
