Haven't really been paying attention to him Plum. He's only been on about 12 minutes or so.

I would only pick De Jager, Koch and Beast from this game to play against Italy.   We need to beat Italy and the rest is just not good enough,  Jantjies was pathetic and Steyn was average  to insignificant at center.

Brits had some nice touches in the game as well. Geriatric jokes aside, you can't help but like the guy and his attitude.

Elton had a crap game, Frans was a non entity at 12 Lood, Snyman, Brits, Mbonambi, Beast, Am, Gelant and Mampini were good. Lood deserved MOM, great player Poor Nkosi never saw the ball

Kwagga was quiet.

Louw was also good.

Herchel didn't use his attack skills much.

Kwagga has been a non-entity at test level. He seems to be one of these players that might not ever make the step up to test level.

At this rate, Mobambi and Britz should be the matchday squad hookers, with Marx sent back home. Britz throw-in's at the lineout is excellent. Mobambi works well at the back of the rolling maul, and comfortably walked over the line for 2 tries.

My team against Italy would be as follows:-

15   Gelant, 14  Kolbe, 13  Kriel, 12  De Allende, 11  Mapimpi, 10  Pollard, 9  De Klerk, 8  Verrmeulen, 7 Du Toit, 6  Kolisi, 5  De Jager, 4  Etzebeth, 3 Malherbe, 2  Mbonambi, 1 Ki tshoff

16  Marx, 17 Mtawarira,  18 Koch, 19  Snyman, 20 Louw, 21  H  Jantjies, 22  Le Roux, 23 Nkosi

I have great problems with Vermeulen and Louw/   Vermeulen was pathetic in both tests against the AB's this year and Louw is a filler-up at Loosie - both are useless at this stage.  I was hesitant about Steyn.  I would rather prefer Le Roux as back-up flyhalf to Jantjies and Steyn.

Erasmus made some mistakes in squad selection and Vermeulen, Louw, Kwagga Steyn and Jantjies are five of those.

Dave

I was horrified by Jantjies performance at flyhalf  today.  Anyway I would not really fault your team.   I would rather have De Jager at 5 than Snyman.

Interesting comment as to Brits - maybe he should be on the bench ahead of Louw, but my headache remains Vermeulen.   He nearly cost us a loss in the AB test in the Rugby Championship and was a major contributor to the loss against the ABs last week,

Jantjies was crap today but is not defined by one game. I would never select Frans in my 23 Old washed up hasbeens don’t belong in a test backline

The Boks weren't clinical and lacked cohesion but consideration should be given to the fact that it was a team built around new combinations and that some hadn't played for two weeks.

CM your comments at 12.19 and 12.44 are both a sad reflection of your bias and the first is a total untruth.

Sure Steyn has slowed down but he made that tackle.

Wonder if you only see WP players as top class players.....you know that fatty front row guy from WP also know as KNEE Prop, that leader from WP also know as Captain ANC and what about that tough, fast #12 also know as Where to go.

Steyn made more carries in distance that most if not all #12 or #13 in this WC thus far.

Give credit when its due but try to be fair.

Beeno 1 you mentioned the Jantjies was not having a good game earlier.

Care to inform me as to when he had a good game at test level?

You know like winning a test for the Boks, crunching tackles and of course his suicide passes to 12 and 13 plus (nearly forgot) he is also a great points scorer with the boot.

He looks like something out of Polsmoor and should never ever have been credited with selection to any national side.

Think he would have made a fitting captain for the Polsmoor 2nd fifteen.
