Morne Steyn went to Stade Francais with great fanfare and massive support of his limited number of supporters on this site.
However, he has had a spotty record at the Club. In his first season there he was clearly out-shined by Plisson - who is still the no 1 flyhalf for the club. He was used a limited number of times in his first year with the club as starting flyhalf - nowadays he is rarely in that situation.
Matter of fact he started for the club in three of the eight matches since the EOYT in November 2014.
He was poor in the Challenge Cup game against Buchuresti, was very average in the game against Newcastle and flopped badly in the game against Lyon. This weekend Stade Francais played Buchresti again and put up a massive performance. The flyhalf was a youngster called Mallett and as per normal Steyn was on the bench He got -also as is normal got 10 minutes playing time and did near to nothing.
As things stand now - it seems that the flyhalf hierarchy at Stade francais is as follows:-
1 Plisson
2 Mallett
3 Steyn
It is amazing that some members of this site still support Steyn as Springbok flyhalf. Will they never learn???
