Stephanie......Tackling!

Now he has made 17 tackles while missing 9.....less than 2 in 3........very low for a lock. And he is not strong in contact, yesterday he was bulldozed 5 metres by an oposite in making one tackle. Etzebeth by contrast has made all his 20 tackles. Losing the ball has also been an issue with 5 ball losses, including 3 yesterday, most of any player on either side except du Plessis. To be fair he has stolen 4 lineouts, but unfortunately lost a few on his own ball. Stephanie is very involved and puts out a huge effort. But better teams will exploit these weaknesses in his game. He needs to tighten up his game.

I dont hate Steph or any player for that matter. But with a star struck media somebody has to be a realist.....the boy's tackling is pathetic.

 Mallett get's one right: DHL Stormers vs Jaguares ‘From a Stormers point of view there were a lot of defensive weaknesses. There was a lot of physicality in that Jaguares side and the Stormers didn’t tackle them backwards, Not tackling them backwards, that's not Etzebeth or Elstadt......that's Stephanie.

PSDT msde 2 crucial line out steals. Had a good match IMO.

Draad, there's only one sad and pathetic loser who doesn't appreciate Pieter-Steph du Toit on this site. Pieter-Steph might make the odd mistake but he's a great athlete who plays the game with great passion and energy.
Moffie can't stand Pieter-Steph because he shows up Moffie's precious sweetheart Eben Etzebeth in every game they ever play together.
You see, Moffie bought into all the hype around Eben Etzebeth and he's now trying very hard to pretend that Etzebeth is this superstar instead of what everyone else sees . . . a lumbering plodder who never busts tackles, never makes any metres and has a fraction of Pieter-Steph's immense work rate.


 

 He made 3 lineout steals.....but he missed plenty of tackles one of which went for a try. He had a mixed match.

 Etzebeth is a superstar and he and PSDT compliment each other.  Great pair...WP can be glad. Vermaak, SP Marais and JLdP also looks good, not to mention the front row. The makings of a great team in a few years if they can keep them together.

Agree,    But when it comes to Mozart he is obsessed by certain players.   He will start threads and the same names consistently feature,  He even went further and started two threads on the lock issue within jour from each other,    Better to acceot that he is just hating certain players.          

Donkey Etzebeth is the most overrated player since Bob Skinstad.
