I hope it is just a slow start to the season Brycy. I Really don't like the fact that SA teams are not playing kiwi teams that much. Turning Super rugby into local derbies doesn't help develop that game & a lot of the entertainment value is in the different styles of play. Still we have to live with it.

Stormers score a good try, backs & forwards with Etzebeth flopping over the line for the try. Bulls lost a couple of lineouts & looked cooked.

 Stormers forwards doing a good job overpowering Bulls in the scr um.

 Stormers score on a driving maul & score from 22 meters out. Pulverized the Bulls.

 JW its very simple really. We need Allende back and Senatla. A backline of Vermaak/ Groom, Du Preez Allende, De Jongh (Alas) Senatla, van Wyk and Kolbe is not bad attack wise but  on the small side.
Add in Elstadt into the loose trio and the pack is looking good. Lineouts and scrum good and certainly will give the pap kiwis lots to think about.
Du Preez was the big plus on the day. Eben is by some way the best lock in the world. A wee ab muncher.

I agree Stormers backs are small but they did fine against the bulls in the second half. Not sure if it was bulls incompetence or stormers competence but a win is a win. 
Poor wee Eben managed to trip over his own boots & score a try much to his surprise, I am glad his team mates congratulated him as he then realized what he had done. Still, they say brains aren't everything...

Sorry - but Retallick is not as good as the NZ supporters make him out to be and is definitely not on par with players like Etzebeth and De Jager as locks.  Tuipolotu may make it in the AB tram - but is a learner still and may nor come up to the level of Schickerling yet.   
Tine to eb realistic - the NZ locks are not the top class players that they are made out to be by NZ supporters.      

The NZ locks often tend to outplay the Boks. Whitelock was way better than Lomp in the WC semi. Etzebeth and Retallik are close with Lomp some way behind.

 Good stats Blobbok. I think some SA supporters still hang on to the old idea that a lock has to be a giant & they tend to play down the importance of skills. 
Etzabeth is fantastic IMO and is still developing into what will be the worlds best lock. Injury & maybe attitude have been stumbling blocks for him. As for the rest of the SA locks no one stands out.

Stats from today's NZ Herald, article by Gregor Paul .............. & you're spot on about Etzebeth, injuries have hampered his progress, but I'm sure (that's if he's not one of em unlucky players continually plagued by injuries) he'll end up being a true Bok legend.  ........ imo.  Three players who stood up and turned it against the Boks were the two kiwi locks and Carter. The Kiwi pairing lifted another notch stealing the Boks lineout ball at critical times in that quarterfinal.....Mike must be joking if he thinks otherwise.

 Bit too early to discuss Bok rugby but hey go ahead and talk up AB rugby.....without Carter you probably need to....

 Plenty of talent coming through Denny but it will be a very different international season as there is a lot of turnover in all teams.

 Sure, but it will be less of a problem with you guys and the Ozzies than it is with us. Actually think the Ozzies are a more settled national side than the Boks and  you guys.

 Denny, from memory I agree that OZ is the most settled of the big three (OZ, ABs and Boks) . They will be a handful as they also are confident coming off last season & based on their performance in the RWC.

 Think they're in an enviable spot with 4 years to go to the next RWC.....loaded with experience, work in progress with plenty of scope for improvement.....and.....never short of confidence. All Cheika has to do is some tweaking.

 Oz depth has been a problem in recent years so we will have to see how that plays out. Cheika has brought some players into them mix so although I don't like him personally he is developing the Wobblies. Boks have a lot of question marks but I beleive they will be competitive. Of the three teams I would go with ABs, Wobblies, Boks. Argies could get some wins but will be fourth in the pecking order IMO.

Wish I had your confidence...hell, my blokes are still learning how to score tries...and when the CEO of SARU says winning is not a priority because his ass is on the line if they don't have a 50% quota team...ummm...   erm....gulp... ...think Houston has more than a problem.

 There is no way the government can force a quota. SARU must just refuse to pick anyone that's not worthy. Let's see if the government has the balls to deny visiting players entry to SA or prevent our teams going abroad. What can the government actually do?

Look Eben is miles ahead off the pap nz locks and Lood beter than anyhting they have. Lood was outstanding and Dr Mozzzz is once again floundering when it comes to locks. Oh it pains me so that Dr Mozz just doent undertand what good lock is all about.
I am looking forward to seeing the Stormers scrum munch up the pap kiwis.  The one problem with the Stormers pack is a small hooker and two small loosies.

I do recall the poor wee boks being shunted back by the Argies Beeno. Many of us congratulated the Boks on this new "strategy" at the time, another Meyer innovation
The poor bulls may have broken the record this weekend though, they were absolutely pulverized in the second half & the only gear they had was reverse.

 Deny, the second halve was much better, but the Bools were poor. Difficult to tell how good or bad the Stormers are. Some potential though.
