Dud Toit playing wing and missing in defense

Mid Field mauls

Open field cross kicks inside our half

Subbing the captain at the half

Short of the 10 m line kickoffs.

Musical chairs selection

Manie Libbok

Missed tackles….we tackled at 80%/Oz at 87% despite Etzebeth and Esterhozen only missing 2 tackles between them and making 25.

Missed lineouts…we only won 11 out of 16.

…..

Occur to anybody what a difference Faf and Pollard would have made as we got edgy in the second half.

Yes Moz they would have. But both were dropped. But they will definitely be back for the second test:)

Manie is probably a of the bench impact player more than a starter?

Sacha also needs to be played more so he can grow in stature. Pollard won’t be there forever.

I just saw on the highlights we were still leading 22-12 when Manie threw that intercept. That was the game lost right there, and the target was Du Toit out wide as we pointed out in the live thread. I've been calling the Bok penchant for skip passing out for a while - you, me, a few of us have been calling Du Toit's moonlighting on the wing out for years to much derision. So the chickens come home to roost.

Want to see how a skip pass is done and when it is done - watch JOC's pass to Jorgenson. It looked forward to me even allowing for momentum, but there was a clear purpose to it - to get the ball wide of the defense. The Libbok pass with a flanker and a hooker wide and backs to chase them down was a pointless risk that would have produced very little reward.

Watched the extended highlights again. Besides Libbok,s kak pass, the rest is down to poor poor defences.

Yes Oz took there chances well, but we gave them most of there chances.

Our Backline defence, especially Fassi, libbok, Willemse, Kurt lee arendse, Jessica and Moodie should have made better tackles.

Absolutely pathetic!!

Some of the Aussie comments on TheRoar hint at many of them thinking the Boks were blown in terms of fatigue after their 20 minute blitzkrieg. Will have to watch the game again, but there may be some serious questions asked about fitness as well as the ability of some of the veterans to go the distance. Maybe Kolisi got pulled because he had simply run out of steam? Speculation, but it may account for some of the terrible tackling and soft tries going on out there. Manie couldn't even catch Wilson.

It was Edwill, but I saw that yes, stopped chasing after about 20m.

Well in the Rassie interview he hinted at Kollisi being injured? Some of the guys did really look tired.

Then you have to ask the question what are they doing in training?

I really do think that Rassie is drunk in this interview as he is not worried at all and smiling all the time.

The Boks don't know what the best match day squad is. The world cup is getting closer. Younger players are not out performing the older players, but by the world cup the younger players might not have gotten enough experience.

But Mozart

I agree with you about most of the issues mntioned - but want to add Esterhizen as a medicore center and a shit loosie to the mix.On cannot have a dead head at center that even get worse as a loosie, For the rest a try scored which entails his first in 21 tests and was giftd to him by Kriel and Du Toit - he only have to trot ove the line to score. For the rest a lne break and two good and hard tackles and then normal Esterhuizen substandard garbage.
