 Well if HM hadn't selected Lomp who leaked a crucial try in the semi....Matfield would probably have been the MOM in the final, as he was in the Bronze Final.

So let me guess, Matfield never had a penalty reversed in the semi, with 15 min to go......bang in front of the posts......we lost by 2.....the kick was worth 3.......kiss the semi goodbye thanks to Vic

 But we kicked 3 points after that you domkop. If we kicked the first three, there are no guaranties that we even get another penalty. The Lomp missed tackle is, however, a fact. Most likely if he makes that tackle we conceded three points at worst...and that differential can't be changed.
In any case stinker it was a very dubious penalty as smarter people than you have opined.
