There are certain problems as to the costing of players and obviously there is still no certainty about team selections.   There obviously are some players I would like to have - but cannot afford them.

Despite that I have juggled around some players and this is my present selections:-

PR  -   James Slipper,  Steven Kitshof

               Bench - T Melcher

HO   - Geb Robinson

               Bench - Torsten van Jaarsveld

LO  - P-S du Toit, Ruan Botha

Bench  - Nicolaas Janse van Rensburg

LF   - Michael Hooper, Jaco Kriel, Pieter Labuschagne

              Bench  -  P McClutcheon

SH  -   Nic White

              Bench  -  M Drummond

FH  -   Handre Pollard

              Bench  -  Willie du Plessis

CE  -  S-B Williams, R Fruean

              Bench  -  M Fekitoa

OB  -  J Savea, Israel Folau, James O'Connor

              Bench -  B Thompson

Given the financial restrictions the above seems to be a strong squad - what doyou think.    The above left me with  $43 400 in the kitty.

...not so clevermike , Nadolo is still in Japan so bad choice...is Ngatai even playing? could be Tamanivalu instead...great depth in the centres for the Chiefs but risky business choosing Chiefs players in Fantasy Rugby given the rotation policy meaning limited game time and they may only play every second week....Fekitoa is on a bye as well

...now you can rate the SA OBs for me..Kolbe is right up there I take it with a couple of the Sharkies wingers close behind.. ??

Brycy, of the SA outside backs, Jesse Kriel will probably be the Bulls starting fullback and he is excellent value at $115k. If you're looking for a cheapo to warm your bench and rise in value, he's the one.

I will obviously have to adjust the squad after the team announcements.   Ngatai and Nadolo are likely adjustments to be made.   Agree with Rooinek about Jesse Kriel though.  He would be an excellent bench selection.
Would like to have players like Reinach, De Allende and Serfontein as well - but they are just not affordable.   I cut costs on locks and bench selections to get in the really expensive players like Nadolo, Folau and SBW in the squad.

I spoke to Malherbe's mother recently and see told me he is fit and well - not yet matchfit - and will be returning in either round 3 or 4.
I h ave updated my selections with due regard to the info provided by you wise people - and will have a look again at it when the teams are finally announced.
Best advice - stick with P-S du Toit - he was massive against Toulon.

because rooy was so gracious with his jesse kreil tip, i too will share some good cheap info.

chiefs center seta tamanivalu is my pick for a cheapy but a goody.
he is a steal at 115k, also the 2014 itm player of the year. his highlight reel from 2014 was simply unbelievable, reminds me a lot of rene ranger.

ive broken one of my fantasy cardinal rules by selecting him in my team, cos i also have SBW and imo its a big no no having to players in the same club playing in the midfield, but u gotta take a little risk aye?

But now you are back and it really is a pleasure to see your above message.   Please confrim whether everything is fine on your side as well.

Thanks Sasuke! I have Andre Esterhuizen as my cheap centre but he's not that likely to start and I'll replace him with Seta Tamavula if that is the case.
Just checked the Testrugby comp and I see Tamavula is dirt cheap there as well.

hi mikey,

everything is fine on my end, i stopped blogging regularly before the end of the spXV cos i was studying and working.
i always had time to watch rugby though, but was to drained to try and converse here.

i did make the odd blog and run though, but next time will do a better job in giving u a heads up.

so no need to worry brother miike, but ur concern is very touching,

I have another plan in that case.   I have Fekitoa as my bench center and when he is available from week 2 I will get rid of Fruean and find a cheap center for the bench.  I need some spare money to strengthen my squad elsewhere   especially in cases where I have cheap players on the bench who does not make their starting teams and the starting line-up players are off for a round.

Justwin, Abby Elizabeth is out for about 4 weeks with an injury, Patrick Tuipolotu is missing at least the first round while Nemani Nadolo will likely miss the first 4 or 5 rounds, depending on how far his Japanese club goes in the Cup.

Hey naru ready for another fantasy season haha. Just FYO too, Samu Kerivi of the Reds is another good cheapie too. In some good form in trials, picked as a player to watch. Cheap too. So toss up between him and Taminvalu. Oh and J Savea may not be playing first round. So if you picked him like I did, maybe best to put him on the bench. I also think his bro A Savea is going to have a big year, so he could be a solid option as a gun for backrow.
