Which game was that one you quoted the stats on and in what position did Steyn play in the match?   He never played at center when De Allende started and the latter was never replaced by Steyn - so lets have the info, please.

Well ... Fransie boy is on his way to 40 ... and as we all know, one's metabolism takes a bit of beating around that time ... and so with his love of take aways and large sodas, he's bound to have stuffed his face during this time and picked up a ton of weight.

Frans started as inside centre against Canada and Dud was started at 13. As you can see from the numbers above Steyn was much livelier than Dud.

Against Canada - what a joke - that is what I expected,  Steyn was inside center handling 19 balls which included 9 passes by him and 10 carries - De Allende passed the ball 3 times and carried it 4 times.   The average carry gains were very similar, 4,9 meters per carry and 3,75 meter per carry,  

However, in that game there was another problem  encountered iro Steyn - his tackle stats was horrendous - 4 tackles made  3 missed for an MTR of  42.85.  That  is another proof that he cannot play in Springboks teams other than perhaps against Canada and Namibia.

One of the Canada players were red-carded at minute 36 after which the Springboks ran riot.  I would never advocate that game for comparison purposes.
