As far as I could make out his team at present is as follows:-

PR   -  C  Oosthuizen,  T Mtawarire

                  Bench  -   S Kitshoff

HO   -  B du Plessis

                  Bench  -   M Marx

LO  -   P du Toit, L de Jager

                  Bench   -   J Kleyn

BR   -   D  Vermeulen, J Kriel, A Botha

                  Bench    -   R Bothma

SH   -  C  Reinach

                   Bench  -  P van Zyl

FH   -   H Pollard

                   Bench   -  Partirck Lambie

CE   -   D de Allende, Jan Serfontein

                   Bench   -  H Mnisi

OB   -   C  Kolbe, W le Roux,  J  Engelbrecht

                    Bench  -  S Sithole

His balance is $ 344 100

Our first objective should be to get a full playing team on the field.   The players likely to be playing and to be retained are indicated in bold.

Props

We have two props available in Oosthuizen and Kitshoff  - no immediate change necessary.

Hookers

We have one hooker -in Bismarck du Plessis  -  no immediate change necessary.

Locks

Pieter-Steph du Toit is fine -  but we need another lock preferably cheap.  What about Eben Etzebeth if he is in the Stormers starting line-up?

Back Row

I think we need another loosie -  what about Hooper or Labuschagne instead of Arno Botha.   I prefer the former.

Scrumhalf and Flyhalf

No change needed

Centers

No immediate change needed

Outside Backs are weak

Le Roux is OK - I would change the other two

Immediate changes needed

Lock?   -   Etzebeth (bearing in mind cost)

Loosie  -   Hooper

OB's     -   Folau, Kriel

Captain -  Folau

SUMMARY

I Have tried to make the above changes - bar the Hooper one - and am left with only $5000 in the Kitty.   The other suggestion is to take out an expensive player like Mtawarire  and put in a cheapie like Mienie this week and try to make other important changes (like Hooper) next week.

What do you guys think?

Wait and see the Bulls team. If Arno is starting then leave it. If not then go for Hooper and cut the budget somewhere else.
That's exactly what I'm doing this week . . . dumping the out of form McCaw and the injured Britz and replacing them with the expensive Hooper and the cheapo Johan Bardoul.

...Lot of yarpies in that team mate...am going for a Brumby/ Warratah / Chiefs combo in the Superbru with a couple of Cheetahs  Oosthuizen, and Le Roux ..

Have dumped any Lions and Kolbe from the Stormers...Ruan Botha seems to be a good earner though..

I do not think it is wise to have too many players from one franchise in the Foxsport team.   Saffex only selected SA players without regard to where you can earn more points.   Most of the players he picked was good enough point-scorers - if he had a captain selected he could have scored over 400 points this past round - but I would definitely change the team and make it more cosmopolitan.
With that in mind I think a person should move slowly and get more players from New Zealand and Australia in the team.  However, we should in the  first instance make sure there is a full team of 15 worthwhile players scoring points.   We must also bear in mind the upcoming byes in the process.
There is an option of using the wildcard, but I am hesitant to suggest it at this stage of the competition.
Careful _ think Ruan Botha will not play this coming week - he is injured.

I agree that somehow or other we must get Hooper in asap into the team - but I had a strict choice between two of the most expensive players - Folau or Hooper - and  I think for financial reasons we have to decide which of the two must come in first.  My own idea is that I would prefer Folau thie week and Hooper next week.
I would rather select Folau this week and bring in Mienie in place of Beast - thus saving a bagful of money and see what we can do next week on the Hooper issue.    I know Hooper must come on Board sooner rather than later - but cannot fit him in this week.
The Bulls have a bye next week and I would rather limit Bulls players as a result.  I do not think Arno will start this coming week - and even not in teh foreseeable future - unless Labuschagne gets injured.   Despite what Saffex is saying, the Bulls not replace Labuschagne with Botha - so he may stay on the bench and Jane Spies will play, hence my reluctance to have Botha in the mix.
If Bothma is not in the Sharks staring line up this week - I will go for Hooper and bring in Naholo and Kriel as outside backs - thus leaving Folau for a later trade.  If the latter is to ha[p[en - I will make Pollard the captain.
However, I will not make any changes until tomorrow after all teams are known.

imo u should recruit SBW, israel folau asap, those two IMO are essentials.
nemani nadolo is another one, but he hasnt been selected yet by useless blackadder. im  expecting this to changer very soon though with frueans injury.

there are a few positions too where its best to recruit very good players, hooker, looseforwards, flyhalf and outsidebacks are where u should make a real good effort in getting very good players.

imo theres no need for the team to have both pollard and lambie in the same team, both are worth a nice amount of coin, and making one ur main points cow, while having a cheaper player to cover the bench in case ur starting flyhalf isnt playing is the better way to go. plenty of good cheap options out there.

would like to see the final team u settle with if u dont mind mikey,

You are 100% correct - but we have only four transfers this week - I will bring in Savea, Folay, Williams, etc in time - I also want Hooper and Kaino in.  I will take out Lambie after the Bulls bye next week and replace him with say a cheapie like Joe Pietersen.
I battled like hell because there are two positions where Saffex had very poor selections or selections which result on vacancies on the field of play.
I will start with the changes this week and work them in gently over the next three weeks to ultimately get to a more point-scoring team.   I will give the final selections for this week elsewhere.

Ou Maaik, I'm more than happy to leave the selections for Dave-the-Fader's team entirely up to you. You have an excellent record in Fantasy Rugby and we all know you're doing this to improve our conference's chances after Dave-the-Fader dropped us in the proverbial. I'm quite sure you'll score better than the Fader would have so it's all good.

No need for you to justify any selections to the rest of us, just use your judgement and I have little doubt the team will be competitive as your Fantasy teams always are.

 Thanks Rooinek
I did post the team I selected elsewhere - so lets hope for the best.   Will miss the matches tomorrow - since I have to go to pick up my new ID Card tomorrow.
The other member of our League I am worried about is Wardad - he is not making changes to his team and is scoring rock bottom.   Am trying to find out what happened to him - if the same situation persists this week I am going to try and find out where he is and try and do the same with him as I did in Dave's case.

Just-Win if you can - ask him if we cannot take over his team and run it on his behalf.  I think what we need is his e-mail address and his password - we know his user name is Wardad.
