Swiel did look very good at lower levels of the game. However senior top-level rugby was a different story. Perhaps should have played fullback to like many of the smaller flyhalfs and get used to the game- before moving back to 10

Just another classic example that 'seuntjie' rugby is no predictor for senior rugby, let alone tests. I think it's pretty clear the Swiel pick was a major balls up Tokkie. Let's move on to Papier, a bold pick made before he had any Super credentials.....seems like another botch. Highly unlikely the small chap is the answer.....especially given your hero Mitchell doesn't pick him, week in week out. Do you have credible defence for this further egg fest.

I have no further comments as to what I wrote five years ago other than to say that my comments about performance based selection and you would find nothing about Swiel written since.  As to Papier - we will see what happens in future.      
It should be your turn to comment om the BS selections Meyer and Coetzee made supported by you,   Lets start with the duds De Jongh selected by both Meyer and Coetzee followed by Morne and Fat Fransie.
Those together with Alberts are probably your worst selections - so come back and explain why you  always supported over the hill or useless non-performers based on age and reputation - especially when the y are way past their optimal  performance age.            

Three years ago you were still banging on about Swiel being a great talent: 'Apr 08, 2015, 17:32 The biggest problem was that the stuffed up Coetzee let this player slipped through his fingers and ended up with the useless and clueless Catrakillis and Coleman as Stormers flyhalf. Jake White grabbed the guy and he was rarely used - because White's idea about a flyhalf is that he must kick the sh!t out of balls and for the rest do nothing of note with the ball. Swiel did not fit into that type of thoughtless rugby and the few times he did get playing time he had Fransie at center and Fransie could not understand the plays Swiel tried to get going after reading of the game - so most moves broke down. Problem is that the only Provinces where Swiel would have been appreciated were the Cheetahs and the Lions - the rest are or have been coached to play dead-head rugby. Swiel did well for Harlequins when eh played for them in December - January and that is the reason why he was signed by them. I think he will have an interesting career and his previous coaches will yet realize they were fools to let him slip through their fingers.'

As for 'we will see what happens' with Papier....we have. He is on the bench. So now he can communicate by semaphore with your other bench heroes....Hoosen and Swiel.

No use diverting Tokkie, I'm not going to bite. Let's move on to the forwards.....starting with Fattie Malherbe. Apart from always being injured and ploughing face first in most of his scrums....what do you see in this man?

@clevermike, I am not sure where Swiel is. I don't really watch UK club rugby at the moment. 
Swiel might also have been a better sevens player, where he would have had more space. Like Senetala, not so great in the tighter more physical games.
