I think that team Saffex did very well the past week - but there are three changes to consider - the main one being Pollard - since the Bulls has a bye this week:-

The team at present is the following:-

PR    -   Coenie Oosthuizen, C Faumuina

                   Bench :   Thomas du Toit

HO   -   Hika Elliot

                  Bench   :   Torsten van Jaarsveld

LO   -   Pieter-Steph du Toit, Eben Etzebeth

                  Bench   :   Rory Arnold

BR   -   Jerome Kaino, Michael Hooper, Lappies Labuschagne

                  Bench   :   Jake Schatz

SH   -   Sarel Pretorius

                  Bench   :   Mitchell Drummond

FH    -  Handre Pollard

                  Bench    :   Joe Pietersen

CE    -   S-B Williams,  T Kuridrane

Bench    :   Michael van der Spuy

OB    -   Isrtael Folau, James O'Connor, W Naholo

                  Bench    :   Jesse Kriel

We only have three trades this week and the Pollard bye issue will call for a juggling act.   However, I also tend to take the opposition into account when making changes - but also will have to bear in mind possible selection changes - so here is what I intend to do:-

*   PR  - No change at this stage

*   HO -  No change at this stage

*   LO  -  Etzebbth may not play this weekend - change him with Arnold coming from the bench

*   OB  -  Lappies Labuschagne  has a bye - change him with Jake Schatz coming from the bench

*   SH  -  Not happy with the situation - but may have to retain Pretorius -  First possible change

*   FH  -  Handre Pollard has a bye - Second Possible change

*   CE -  Not happy with either - but cannot change them now

*   OB -  Get rid of James O'Connor - Third Possible Change

Scrummie

If Sarel Pretorius does play I may keep him and direct my attention elsewhere - possibly replacing Schatz with Timani of the Rebels.

Pollard

Trade him - with intention to buy him back next week - but for whom?  Both Foley and Lambie is too expensive and Barrett may be the answer

James O'Connor

Trade him - possibly for Ben Smith if affordable - otherwise Woodward of the Huricanes or Piutau of the Blues.   Willie le Roux is also an option.  Any advice?

Since I handle the team on behalf of the League - comments on the changes will be appreciated.

James Lowe is still relatively cheap. Averaging around 31 .0. Unfortunately Mckenzie is classed as OB, other wise he would of been perfect. So yeah I see Barratt as the real option, hes due for a big one. Been giving solid performances, but none that justifies his value.

Also maybe bring in Peranara. He's averaging around 32.0 which is excellent for a scrummie.

Thanks kul - advice appreciated.  The changes will depend largely on the team selections and the prices though.
I may retain the scrummies and try and bring in Timani - I think against the Force he will have a great game - and he is relatively cheap.
My main problem is with Pollard.   I would have preferred not to trade him - since you always lose money when you do.   His price has gone up so much over the past four rounds that it may not be a reasonable financial thing to do, but one may take a chance that for the next week his price stay static.
I am glad you remind me of Lowe - but I am vary of the Chiefs this week against the Stormers - matter of fact that is why I have reservations about Williams as well - against any other team Lowe would have been an automatic choice.

True Cheifs are a great attacking side tho. So although the STormers are a great defensive side. Still would go with sbw. I can't bring him out in any case haha, so im sticking with sbw fekitoa combo.

I wish I had the  Fekitoa option as well - but I had to get rid of either Fekitoa or Kuridrani and unfortunately chose the latter to remain.  I think Kuridrani may have a great game against the miserable Reds.   If he does not - he is a goner next week - when we have four trades and not three.

Revised team based on latest selection changes:-

PR    -   Coenie Oosthuizen, C Faumuina

                   Bench :   Thomas du Toit

HO   -   Hika Elliot

                  Bench   :   Torsten van Jaarsveld

LO   -   Pieter-Steph du Toit,  Rory Arnold

                  Bench   :  Eben Etzebeth

BR   -   Lopeti Timani, Michael Hooper, Jake Schatz

                  Bench   :   Lappies Labuschagne

SH   -   Sarel Pretorius

                  Bench   :   Mitchell Drummond

FH    -  Beaumont Barrett

                  Bench    :   Joe Pietersen

CE    -   S-B Williams,  T Kuridrane

Bench    :   Michael van der Spuy

OB    -   Isrtael Folau, Julian Savea, Waisake Naholo

                  Bench    :   Jesse Kriel

Kaino not playing caused massive problems for me.   The above changes would leave me with a very substantial balance to use the next week to get Pollard back, look again at Kaino and at Kruridrani, etc.

Comments will be since rely appreciated

There is still a possibility that the Chiefs can chicken out and not expose Williams to the De Allende Threat - and then everything will go haywire - will then have to keep O'Connor - that is if he is playing at all.
The coaches are making our life extremely difficut with their Thursday team announcements in any event.   The Rebels and Force are playing each other on Friday - not a whisper about their teams yet.
The BS Stormers was the last team to announce their team last week - I suppose Coetzee will be the last this week as well.

De Allende threat? You seen SBW? He's bigger then De Allende lol. I am sure SBW is fine, he is an All Black after all. He well most likely be facing de allende at test level. So don't see the point of avoiding it. Heres my team as of now. Waiting on the Cheifs to be named, because I have Bardoul who I hope well start, if not then I am kinda screwed with no flyhalf.
OB: Folau, Lowe, Savea
FH: Barratt
SH: Reinach
Backrow: A Savea, Hooper, Bardoul
Locks: P Du Toit, Tuipolotu
Hooker: Elliot
Props: Oustahzen, Voch

On request I have taken over the managing of Team Saffex.   However, I used the Wildcard last week - kept as many point scoring players of Saffex and asked for inputs from other members before I finally submitted the team.   I had to accept some inputs and discarded others.   Unfortunately one of the inputs I accepted was Sarel Pretorius who never played - and another was James"OConnor - who was poor.   Should rather have followed my own ideas in those cases.
Not really my second team - even though it may seem to be the case.
I call them BS because they were the last team to be announced last week.  I try and update the team selections and it really is a problem when teams come through late like the Stormers did last week.

I was just pulling the leg of the NZ members with the SBW story.  However, Treeby gave SBW serious problems last week - and I expect worse ones from De Allende if there is a repeat by SBW.
If I had the option, he would have been one of the players I would have changed - even if he plays .   He was not a reasonable point scorer last week considering his price and I think Sasue is still regretting that he made Williams his captain.

Yeah SBW needs space, when he does he is devastating. I would make SBW captain but not this week. Stormers are imo the best defensive side in the comp. So unless SBW decides to run over De Allende, don't see him going straight through crash ball. He's going to have to be a bit more inventive. I remember Cullen my all time fav rugby player, used to run around players if he coulden't go over them haha. Im fretting on the cheifs team. I have bardoul and if he is not starting I am kinda scrwed with only three trades. Do you know if Mntembu from the Sharks well get a starT?

I do not know - but there is about a 10% chance he will start.  The Sharks will stick with their present loosies - they are in a bind and has to win.
