This weeks fantasy well be interesting. With the Canes Cheifs players returning. I really suffered the most this we. I am currently on 200 points. Players who normally average around 40. Scored an average for me of 10 this WE. My top scoring players were Zellinga, Ioane, and Viljoen. 24 points lol. So yeah you could say it was a disaster for me this WE. So looking forward to the Canes returning. Stock my team with a ton of them. And maximize on the Reds game. As we should expect Canes by alot.

I'm sure you kept Canes & Chiefs players on your bench, I managed to keep a few so next week should be better. With 4 teams have a bye this weekend it will be another challenge.
Chiefs should have a good game against the Bulls although they will be hurting after their loss to the Blues. Canes should handle the Reds but on any given day....
The wee stormers have another easy game as the are playing the cheetahs. Same light schedule as last year.

The SA team schedule is a joke. For instance I don't think the Lions play a kiwi team at all in the regular season. Only post Season if they make it. Easy Schedule for the SA teams, and they canter into the playoffs. While the top performing kiwi sides, prob Canes, Cheifs, and Saders. Suffer due to the Conference System. If Blues and Landers are good enough, they well prob miss out. Even though they well prob have ten points better then the winner of the other conferences. It's an absolute farce.

The Lions played Kiwi teams last year and other than the Canes it was an ugly experience for the Kiwi teams.  They are lucky this year they have to play the weaker SA teams and not the Lions.

Hahaha true. But still the SA teams like to avoid the kiwi teams in general don't they. I am sure the Canes have no issues coming to Durban to play the Lions. After you know that 50 point walloping.
In Fantasy. I benched Peranara, Barrett, and Brodie. So I well bring them back. And use my 3 trades all on Canes players.

I think we would be lucky this tie around - we may have 4 trades this week and boy do I need them.    I need to do some serious cleaning up on the site and need 2 new BR and two OB's to start with.
The team selections this week will have to be seriously in my favour to even field a half-decent team.   I would love to bring in some Canes players - but they are all seriously over-priced and I have virtually no funds available.

I need to take out two OB's too useless players haha. Centre and an back rower . Well I have Rensberg, but Lions have a bye weekend later. Matt Duffie is a shout he is pretty cheap. And got around 60 last we. J Savea likely. And Ardie. Jordie Barrett is prob the best option for Centre. Playing at Fullback for the Canes againgst the Reds most likely.

Will keep Viljoen as a OB and hope that the Stormers are not foolish again and select Du Plessis to start.   It was clear  that Viljoen was crooked out of a second try on Saturday by the referee who did not hear the comments of the video ref and disallowed the try.   The referee will probably get a roasting about that one during the match review.
The number of byes  the next three rounds are problematic.   Thanks for the advice on Duffie though - the Blues next bye is only in Round 9  The only negative is that they are up against the Force next round and have two tough games after that before their bye.

Pity about that Highlanders team announcement. I need to dump a centre and I was hoping that Tomkinson chap would be named again . . . seeing as he's listed as a centre, playing as a wing and would have been up against the fragile Rebels.

Think I might go with Jordie Barrett instead although he's a lot more expensive. Anyone know when he goes off on Baby Black duty?

Jordie is 350k he is a good option. I would of gone Luamape too expensive though. The U20 World Cup is around May. So he well on Baby Black duty for three weeks around then.

Dane Coles gets another week to overcome knee niggle

A knee niggle will see Hurricanes captain Dane Coles sit out Saturday's clash with the Reds.

The bruised knee, suffered in the March 18 win over the Highlanders, is said to be minor and won't affect Coles' season. The Hurricanes are looking to spell their frontline All Blacks where possible and this means another rest for the skipper, who also sat out the opening round game against the Sunwolves.

Ricky Riccitelli will start at hooker instead, with back up from Leni Apisai. The Hurricanes also have the impressive Asafo Aumua waiting in the wings, so can afford to be without Coles on occasions when the result is probably a foregone conclusion.

(...)

Hurricanes team to play Reds:

15.Jordie Barrett, 14.Vince Aso, 13.Matt Proctor, 12.Ngani Laumape, 11.Julian Savea, 10.Beauden Barrett, 9.TJ Perenara, 8.Ardie Savea, 7.Callum Gibbins. 6.Brad Shields, 5.Michael Fatialofa, 4.Mark Abbot, 3.Jeff To'omaga-Allen, 2.Ricky Riccitelli, 1.Chris Eves.

Reserves:

16.Leni Apisai, 17.Ben May, 18.Mike Kainga, 19.Sam Lousi, 20.Reed Prinsep, 21.Te Toiroa Tahuriorangi, 22.Otere Black, 23.Pita Ahki.

 Thanks Luke
Do you think Jordie Barrett is going to be a regular starter for the Canes - I am not sure?
My team at present looks sick:-
PR    -    Mallherbe. LouwHO   -    MarxLO    -    Du Toit, WhitelockBR    -    Kriel. plus 2 I have to findSH   -     PerenaraFH   =    Cruden/PollardCE   =    Van  Rensburg, Du Plessis/HavilliOB   =    Cloete - have to find 2 more
Problem both Malherbe and Louw are tighthead props for the Stormers - one likely to start and the other to replace him  -  have to take that chance and try to find four players in the positions listed.
Hope Cruden starts for the Chiefs  -  hate the idea to play Pollard - he has been hopeless thus far.
I am thinking of -
BR   -    Cane, TaufuaOB   -    Duffie, Tambwe
What do you think of those 4 - I have serious money problems

Cheers Cloudy !When I lived in my wifes hometown I would slaughter a pig or what have you and with a couple of other Maoris we would put on a hangi for the local RL and Rugby clubs .One year it seemed I was doing a hangi once a month for clubs and charities !Yup its the proper Kiwi way alright and no doubt some of our Saffa friends have done the same ?Having rellies or friends on the land [ which every Maori does eh ?] is a blessing .Freezers full of good cheap tuckers the go eh ?Me old man and uncles werent adverse to a bit of rustling either !I remember as a kid having to stay across this lake while our uncles and my Dad shot a couple of bullocks that had strayed onto a reserve ,it sounded like a cannon echoing across the lake so not too stealthy that one !

Sanzar confirmed Reds Canes going ahead.
I am not sure RE Saders and Tahs though. Maybe Late Friday night. I have only 2 players in that game potentially. Kepu and Latu.

Still wondering which centre to pick. I'm still considering Jordie Barrett mainly because he's a centre playing as an outside back but I'm concerned that the Hurricanes might be playing in a mud bath and he's not a long term solution because he'll be off on Baby Black duty at some stage.

I'm leaning toward Malakai Fekitoa because the Highlanders have an easy enough game against the Rebels (and I like to have a bit of Fantasy interest in as many games as possible) but he's not showing his form from a few seasons ago and I'll have to bench him in 2 weeks time when the Highlanders have a bye.

What about Johnny Fa'auli from the Chiefs? Can't say I noticed him much in his few appearances so far but the Chiefs are up against the pathetic Bulls and he's dirt cheap. Anton Lienert-Brown is obviously another option but he costs quite a bit more. Still cheaper than Jordie Barrett though.

In my other changes I'll also be bringing in Damian Mckenzie and I am now officially sick of Akira Ioane's lack of commitment resulting in him sitting on the bench every week so I'm also looking for a loosie . . . I reckon I'll go with Sam Cane unless I'm cash-strapped in which case I reckon the Highlanders Dillon Hunt might be worth a gamble.
