For near top a decade we had slow loosies with zero ball skills who missed tackles constantly.  The coaches apparently believed that the loosies are an extension of the Tight 5.   That is where the whole balls up was with Meyer; selections in particular.  

I think that Vermeulen is slow and  Louw is slow and that is a problem when it comes to defense.  Vermeulen at 8 rarely makes more than  6 tackles ion games and he missed some too.   He is NO SE in wider out from the fringes defense,    Louw is more likely to miss tackles than any of the other loosies.  That remains a problem as well.

Why do you continue lying about Du Toit insofar as ball protection is concerned or don't you know what the term means?  You know that a  player must have he pace to keep up o with the game and be soon at breakdown points to protect and recover balls and neither Louw nor Vermeulen is really there unless the tackle is within three meters from them/  Anyway - you are indeed so prejudiced you prefer not to see what really happens during games and come up with generalized BS  you dream up yourself,  Good luck to you if you believe the nonsense you wrote on site.  Remember your famous twaddle about how Alberts did no turnovers but pushed the all opposition players off the ball which got laughed off the board..   So we can take you in this on the same basis.

Watching the game again, Steph was outstanding. Best forward on the park. Amazing work rate and tackles out wide that showed he has great pace for such a big man.

Sure two loosies only- but who were absent?   Louw?  Mostly on the bench/  Vermeulen was absent in the third England test and skipped the RC.   So you were right - but missed out o n the absentees,   Try again. LMAO

Was Louw not the player who was on the bench in the Wellington test last year and his only contribution was that hen he Springboks was defending  desperately in the red zone won a possession turnover - where after the dud knocked the ball on when passed to him?   Was it not a perfect pass?  And why was there never ever any comments by you on that knock-on?

So now we must go back to past test history for you to try and justify Louw- not what he is presently capable of.   Typical - the rugby geriatrics must always be protected by you from any criticism on site, while you keep on lying about players like Du Toit with outrageous and totally untrue statements.   Think again before you write garbage on site,          

The Wellington test is not a happy hunting ground for you Lügnerin. It perfectly captures all of the problems we have with Steph, who was outplayed by the courageous Mauling Mostert. Louw made 10 tackles, missing 1 in that last stand. Not bad I would say. He certainly was much less porous than Steph. In the end though, after that and the last Puma test, Pakie and myself in particular stated that he needed a big game to get himself back in the picture. We were honest about where he was at, and he has delivered ever since returning for the home loss to NZ, where he was a standout performer. 

Who made more than a double number of telling tackles.   Louw NEVER was a standout player in any test in 2018 - fact is he was average in all games he played in last year and one possession turnover did not make him a stand-out player on Saturday.  The loosie stand-out on Saturday was Du Toit - Louw was a distant second.

Just a question did that knock-on in the Wellington test ignored by you occurred or did it not?
