Canes improved last year & are used to living off the few scaps the forwards give the backs. Even if the Bulls get their forward play fixed the Canes will give the Bulls a hard time. Canes are playing away but still will be very cometitive & could pull off a win.

In looking at the game against the Lions - the Canes were very lucky to win that one. I think the Lions managed to grab defeat out of the jaws of victory - rather than the Hurricanes winning the game through good play. On the whole their super backline was quiet and my worst scores on fantasy rugby came from the Savea brothers and Slipper.
Even though there is much criticism of the Bulls backline - especially Serfontein and Engelbrecht - I do not think the Hurircanes backline will over-power the Bulls. As I stated earlier the Bulls forwards were problematic on Saturday and the elimnination of some of the problem cases - like Mafield and Spies - would cause serious problems for the Hurricanes.
However, you have a staunch ally in Ludeke - he will always be buggering up his selections. Bad idiot to have as a coach.

I have updated the team already - however, Ludeke is an idiot like Meyer and as long as they select players like Matfield and Spies they will remain idiots.

A week ago I was really positive about my Bulls chances this year. Now I am not so sure. Matfield is a bloody big problem! Bulls scrum has been weak for ages now. Trevor and Adriaan will help improve things, but with the Bulls pig headed reliance on 10 man rugby, they should have massive depth and class in the tight 5, but they don't.
So basically, they are going to play forward dominant 10 man rugby, without dominant forwards. Goodbye 2015!

There's more to this than mere selection issues.
It's as if there's no unity. Too much individualism.
Ludeke has lost the plot altogether. He's unable to get the boys to play as one. Each is on his own mission.
The Bulls have a potent team on paper. They should be unstoppable.
My jaw hit the floor when I saw the Stormers' make shift team scrum them into the ground.
The Bulls need to cut the deadwood away. Starting right at the top and working its through to that pathetic excuse of a coach .. and finally ... getting rid of that poisonous snake ... Matfield.

The Stormers had 4 locks and no flankers in their team. . The canes will not do it. I predict a better performance from the bulls this week. The Canes will have to be very special not to lose this. Bulls to win this almost comfy.

If the bulle forwards get on top of the pap blowhard hurricanes they should win. How the Lions lost that match beggars belief - they dominated all facits of the game as the journoes said.
Ludeke has still not got his pack right. Where is Greyling, why play matfiled at 105 kg.Liebenberg should have started. Spies needs in any event to be eased in from the bench.Ludeke is captive to the senior bulle players?
Yes Draad what the oaks have not spotted is the effect of the powerful Stormers loose trio. The most powerful in the comp. Add two 120 kg locks and two 120 kg props and only scrurra is small. I suspect Scurre will be on the bench as Bongi had a very good game against the bulle. Really got stuck in.
The bulle with Werner, wee matfiled and wee arno and stegsies could not be expeted to handle what came their way.Why all the surprise is baffling.But put in Greeying, Marcell van der merwe, A decent lock to partner du Plessis - even hattingh will do. Libeneberg at 8 and find a decent 6 and things change completely. Then watch the bulle backs perform with Hougaard at 9 as well.The bulle are far from getting it right. But be assured the y will be up for the blowhard hurricanes!

the Canes weren't lucky against the lions, this has been their gameplan for years, give away ball and possesion, good defense and counter attack.
It seems that you saffas only think in kg. as here our friend Mr. Been does,..... 120kg. locks, 120 kg. props, 120 kg. backrowers,......... why not 120 kg. scrummies?

The Bulls are willing in body but not in mind.
Their will try their utmost to disprove Einstein's theory of insanity by achieving different results by doing the same thing over and over.
Both Pollard and Serfontein were poor last week. JJ was poor, but when last was he not.
Ludeke is just a puppet that repeats the same cliche each week, or what ever the flavor of the month is. (Meyer said they want to play attacking rugby, but now the Bulls want to do the same thing with aimless kicking or crash ball.
On paper, the Bulls have a pretty good backline. The need to get props that contribute to the game.
I would still back them to win against the Canes. Their forwards should be too physical. Their will be less kicking by the Hurricanes so the ball will stay in play more.
